Pahrump Nugget
June 15th, 2024
Total Paid Out: $4,291.00
From Vegas to Pahrump We want to give a huge thank you to the bowling manager Mike and his crew, along with the entire Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino for a great time. When we arrived, they gave us all Gatorade and the casino hosts brought us a box of Pink Box doughnuts. This was all unexpected and so welcoming. Everyone had a great time in Pahrump, the alley had it’s challenges like others. Lane conditions were the best challenge for all as the Nugget had to bring in Swamp coolers until the roof top a/c repairs are completed. This changed the playing field quite a bit, making for dryer conditions. Everyone stepped up to the challenge, giving it their all last Saturday. Our 9-Tap Jackpot has been holding strong, with only one person hitting the front 3, and being knocked out by JDerek Masangcay. He is the only person in the last 3 tournaments lately to hit the front 4 this last weekend at the Pahrump Nugget. With all this happening, the 9-Tap Jackpot has grown again to a nice $2103.00 for this coming weekend at Suncoast. Now being back over the $2000.00 mark adds the front 5 to the pot and adding another prize to the list. Our Progressive Pot did take a hit this last week as all of the Top 3 finishers were in for the $20 option. This brought the Progressive Pot down some to $990.00 for this coming weekend. Our Father’s day pot paid out the top 3 places. 1st place John Dougherty winning $100 prize, 2nd place Bruce Smith winning $75.00, 3rd place John Lee III winning $55.00. Our newly crowned champion has only been with the tour since Feb. of this year, joining us at Sam’s town. He bowled in two squads and made the cash list his first-time placing 6th. This last weekend, he just came back to bowling after having to take off 3 months for a torn bicep. Which shows everyone, it’s how your day will go even after an injury. Congratulations, to John Dougherty for becoming a first-time champion with us this last weekend out at the Pahrump Nugget. He came in wearing his Dexter bowling shoes, using his Hammer Black Pearl, drilled by the fellas over at JB Bowling Supply. John bowls on the Ohana league on Sunday’s at 12:00pm. He doesn’t have any special plans with his money, but we bet his wife does, lol (Joking). John wants to thank his mother-in-law and his daughter for cheering him on. We did ask him where he works, and he is “retired.” John is very happy to be back to bowling after 3 long months off with a torn bicep. Glad you’re back John, those injuries are nothing to take for granted. He also has some other hobbies like football (Chargers), cars and cooking. Our 2nd place finisher joined the tour back in Nov. at our veteran’s tournament in Pahrump. He has only bowled in 5 total tournaments now to date. With his best finish was Nov. of last year finishing 8th. Congratulations, Wade Smades on getting your first 2nd place finish with us in that short time. We bowled with him on our last season’s Thursday night league. Wade is fun to be around and likes to joke with everyone. Taking 3rd place this week is no stranger to having wins on the tour. He holds the Black shirt with stars on it showing all his wins. Congratulations, again to Robert Rawling for another outstanding day of rolling to make the top of the list again in the last few weeks. He has made an outstanding roll on the tour making the cash list 21 times total since 2016 when he joined. After the tours return to Vegas after 6 years, he has now made the cash list 3 times since rejoining back in Sept of 2024. |
