Gold Coast
April 28th, 2024
Total Paid Out: $3,495.00
Nice Day at Gold Coast Thank you all for making another great day of competition this last Sunday. We want to thank Louis and Marshall both along with the crew at Gold Coast for making another great time for us all. The tour is off for the next 2 weeks as my wife and I are on Vacation. It’s our turn to bowl Nationals at South Point this next coming week, along with spending time with our family and friends. We return to action on Sunday May 19th at The Orleans for a 3 game, 3 squad day of fun. Once again you all come through with a nice turnout for a Sunday. Even with us holding 2 squads this last weekend before our vacation, we had a nice turnout and a lot of fun. This last weekend the Progressive Pot took a small hit on Sunday going from $1227.00 down to $1029.00. The 9-Tap Jackpot held on this last weekend with only 2 members to tie hitting the front 3 only and has jumped up from $1056.00 to a nice $1206.00. Way to go Mark Kight and Robert Rawling for tying the front 3 No Taps to split the winnings and receive $25 each. Our winner this last weekend is no stranger to bowling. He comes in with a smile and enjoying life, always shaking hands, and saying hello. We aren’t exactly positive, but we think he joined the tour way back in 2015 only bowling once. Our current records show he joined us back in Oct. 2023, and not bowling until the first week of Nov. 2023 where he placed 2nd in his first outing with us at Santa Fe. That day was his best finish with us until this last weekend. Since joining the tour, he has brought in referrals and now holds the lifetime membership. Congratulations, to Joseph Lawson aka ‘Bruce’ on your win at Gold Coast this last Sunday. Joseph rolling a nice 773 series, only bowling in the 2nd Squad, and held on to the lead by only 11 pins to keep the win. Joseph came in lacing up his Dexter bowling shoes, cleaned up his Roto Grip Rubicon drill at the “WOW” old Texas Station pro shop. (That was a little while ago.) He enjoys bowling each week at Santa Fe on Monday’s, Gold Coast on Tuesday’s, and The Orleans on Sundays for league. Wonder if he has any special plans for his winnings, “that’s to keep it in his Pocket”. This last Sunday Joseph was rolling along side his son Bryce, which we noticed there wasn’t much cheering on for his dad. “Bryce said, (‘I wasn’t cheering him on!’)” Sounds like a little competitiveness between those two for sure. Joseph says thanks, and he loves his Storm equipment. His other hobbies if you can guess? Yes, it’s Bowling, Bowling, and even more Bowling. Way to go Mr. Lawson congrats on holding on this last weekend for your first time Championship with us. Rolling into 2nd this week is another bowler that’s no stranger to hitting the lanes. Congrats, Mickey Sambor for always coming in saying hello and smiling having a good time each time you’re here. You sure bowled great this last weekend and only missed the win by 11 pins rolling a nice 762. Mickey has only joined us back in Sept. 2023. Having only rolled in 5 tournaments with us and having a 5th place finish before this weekend is outstanding odds. Keep up the good work and positivity. Taking the 3rd place spot this week is another die hard tour bowler. He hasn’t missed a week since joining us, except his vacation. Since joining the tour back in Feb. 2024, he has placed on the cash list 5 times now. Congrats, Jarod Griffeth on your 2nd best finish since joining the tour. Along with making the bracket finals in our 1st quarter championship since joining. He says he is hooked on our tour and will be with us every weekend we roll. Thanks, Jarod, for those nice words, makes our day. |
