Wrap Up

Fun Day at Sunset Station

We had a good turn out at Sunset Station this last Sunday.  We not only want to thank everyone who made it out and had a great time, we really want to thank Jerry and his crew for another outstanding day at Sunset Strike Zone.

Our scores here at Sunset are right on track for the tour scoring with a low to make the cash list of 695.  The 9-Tap Jackpot has been starting to grow, this last Sunday we had only 2 members to hit front 3 Taps.  The 9-Tap Jackpot will be $1886.00 next week at Sam’s Town.  Our members are outstanding and are having fun, laughing, and joking with each other.

We once again are glad to announce another First time Champion and long-time member of the tour.  This gentleman joined the 9-Tap Tour long ago back in Nov. of 2015.  His best finish on the tour was a 3rd place finish back in May 2016.  Congratulations, to Don Nagamine for his first time Champion win on the tour and at Sunset Strike Zone.  He came out for the first squad, laced up his bowling shoes and rolled like a league night.  Don re-entered, using only his Roto Grip Plastic spare ball just trying for No-Taps and ended up rolling the high series for the day in the 2nd Squad with a 758.  Don’s ball was drilled by Jon B. over at JB Bowling Supply.  Don bowls Tuesday and Thursday night here at Sunset Strike Zone.  Sounds like Don’s plan with his winnings is to take a Trip to Hawaii, that sounds like a great plan.  He had his uncle Johnny and aunt Carol Cheering him on along with Dawn Niino (also a 9-tap member).  Don has been working for Rice Construction for the last 15 years.  Don with all the smiles, thanks everyone for the great competition and enjoys the fun.

The 2nd Place finish is our Opener Champion from Gold Coast, Kevin Nurmi. He rolled in the first squad leading the pack with a 751.  His lead was just out done by 7 pins to drop Kevin into 2nd place. Kevin re-entered in the 3rd squad and was still rolling good, but fell short with a 728.

3rd place David Dunn who only rolled in the 1st squad shot a vey nice 728 which held on just enough to keep him in 3rd place all day.  All the others were challenging Davids’s 3rd place, but he held on by 2 pins to keep that finish for the day.

As we are still seeing the Diversity of HDCP making the cash list 3 pins up to 54 pins.

Next week we are over at Sam’s Town  with Tom and his crew and are changing this from 4 game to  Best ‘3 of 4’ since it’s the most popular of the formats.  Either way it’s a 4-game day and we throw out your low game.
