Sunset Station
Oct. 28th, 2023
Total Paid Out: $1,510.00
Fun day at Sunset Station! We had a fun day with everyone that made it out to Sunset Station. We would like to thank Jerry and his crew for a great time. This week we had one of our own 9-Tap staff members make the finals and hold the lead all day. Chris Pankalla joined the 9-Tap Tour back in 2008 in the Seattle area. Chris came and rejoined the tour in the Puget Sound in 2022, moved to Vegas in 2023 and has been helping us with the tour as a Floor Director. Along with winning his First title in the Puget Sound area at Skyway Park Bowl and placing 2nd in the Tacoma area. He was fighting with wrist pain and tried to finish strong, which he sure did! Chris slid in wearing his Dexter SST8 bowling shoes and rolling his DV8 Verge Solid to set the pace on Saturday with a nice 788 in the first squad. His DV8 was drilled by Robert Kelley at Peter Somoff’s Pro Shop. Chris bowls on the Thursday night mix league at the Pahrump Nugget Bowl. His dad, Mike Pankalla, who also bowled and finished in 4th, encouraged Chris the whole way along with his girlfriend Camryn (our Bracket Girl). We asked Chris what he’s planning for his winnings? He said, ‘I’m going to Disneyland for Thanksgiving!’ Chris’s other favorite thing to do is go golfing. Chris wanted to give special thanks to the entire Staff at Sunset Strike Zone Bowl, along with all the bowlers that come out to participate in the 9-Tap Tour. Next coming in 2nd place on Saturday is Zorian Connell. He is one of our younger members and new to the tour Sept. 9th, 2023, at Suncoast. Zorian has bowled in 4 tournaments now, having made two 5th place finishes and now a 2nd place finish. Zorian bowled near Chris in the first squad both having a great day bowling. Zorian fell just short of first by 22 pins with a nice 766. The 3rd place finish was a tour veteran Terry Sherman (who is featured on our banners). Terry has been on the tour since Feb of 2016, bowled in the first squad and is now helping the tour as a new Floor Director. He came back and bowled the 3rd squad and fell just short rolling a nice 749. Terry is fun to have in the 9-Tap family and is very knowledgeable.
Dont forget the time change for Santa Fe this coming Sunday. There are so many tournament around town, we do our best to give everyone the best experience for our tour. Our tour is USBC Certified. As we let everyone know, we try to keep a level playing field so everyone has a chance to make the cash list or win. Let’s show the bowling centers that bowling is a great sport that needs to be kept intact. Great Bowling to all and Remember Free Memberships Continue Through 2023. |
