 Wildfire Casino and Lanes hosted our Sunday Tour stop yesterday. Crazy 8s regular Ron McGinnis finally got back into the Winner's Circle, defeating Albin Sutrick for the fully paid entry. Albin picked up $30 towards his entry as well. Everyone who participated in Crazy 8s also received 2 free games of bowling from the house. 6 Members made the "Cash List" sharing in the$2,223.00 paid out! Lenard Blackman managed to put up 5 Taps and walked away with a COOL $250.00 in cash! Frances and David Kaea, 9-Tap Tour Hawaii Directors were also in town and David made the "Cash List".
With cooler temperatures prevailing outside, things got pretty hotinside the center right off the bat. Derrick Chan threatened the 300 Progressive Pot with a 298 for his second game. The perceived front runner, however, was Lola Anderson. Having luck on her side until a critical sliding pin did not fall down in her final game to give her a strike, Lola posted an AWESOME 1013 set. Her best series yet since joining the Tour! Derrick continued on with his "hot hand",however, and edged out Lola with his own IMPRESSIVE 1083 score, a personal best for him also! The Top 2 leaders held on to their spots thru squad 2 but the last squad was a different story. Greg Mamac put together 4 solid games and shot an EXCELLENT score of 1079 to end the day. He was just 4 pins short of winning another championship. It was good enough to knock Lola into third place and A check for $190.00. Greg would get $360.00 for second and our Champion, Derrick Chan takes home a COOL $801.00 and his second Tour Title. Congratulations to everyone!
Derrick Chan started off a little shaky but calmed down quite a bit after his 298 in game 2. Using two different bowling balls, the
 Ebonite Game Breaker Phenom and a Storm Code Black using one for each lane throughout his 4 game block is not an easy thing to do. His Code Black was drilled by Keith Boyd at K&K Pro Shop at Gold Coast and his Phenom was drilled by anEbonite staffer when Nationals were in town. Derrick is a 2nd grade school teacher whiched helped him "school" the competition yesterday. Congratulations on your second Tour Title, Derrick. Well deserved! |
