Wrap Up
The Orleans played host to the Tour's first event of the second half of the 2017 season yesterday.  It was a great afternoon of fun andcompetition as 9-Tap Tour Directors; David and Frances Kaea from Hawaii and Rob and Margie Victor from Puget Sound were in town visiting.  Tour Members from these regions, as well as TAT bowlers all the way from England, helped boost the entry count to 61!  New Member Kevin Day took advantage of the Crazy 8s Contest and "Won his Way In" to Main Event for just $5.00.  Al Sistruck came in second earning a partial entry for his efforts.  Overall the day was a huge success!  We picked up some new local Members pushing our membership count closer to 600!  Due to a tie for the final spot on the "Cash List", 13 Members shared in the overall payout of $3,728.00.  Renita Moore also "tapped" the Jackpot for $100.00 and Tony Madolora found his way to perfection with a nice no tap 300!

With squads from bowlers all over the globe competing for the 9-Tap Tour Title, Jody Loo from Hawaii set the mark to beat with a very nice 1017 series.  Following along in the second squad, new Member Melinda Neal from California took over the top spot with four very consistent games for a total of 1033.  The final squad had two Members taking aim at the top spot.  Chonthida Athiprayoon and Randy Kaea-Cook had their sights set on winning.  Randy would end up falling just 20 pins shy of first and 1 pin shy of second with his 1032 series which was good for 3rd place and a check for $286.00.  Melinda's 1033 would be good for 2nd place and a NICE payday of $386.00 as Chonthida found her way to the top with an AWESOME series of 1052 to win her first Tour Title and take home a COOL $1,030.00 as well.  Congratulations to our Top 3 finalists this week!  Great bowling!

Chonthida Athiprayoon,  became a Member of the Tour back in January of 2016.  Taking up the sport just 10 years ago, she used her Rocket from Storm drilled at 4th Street Bowl in San Jose, CA.  Cheered on by husband Tip Jeensalute (who finished tied for 5th) as well as her Vegas friends, Chonthida said she was very calm and made good shots during her 4 games.  She thanks the Tour and its staff for doing a good job in running the tournaments.  As for what she is planning to with her winnings, Chonthida is planning a trip to Disneyland.  Way to go Chonthida, enjoy the win!
