Texas Station
July 29th, 2017

Total Paid Out: $2,653.00

Wrap Up
Texas Station played host to the Tour yesterday and we tried something new with a Colorama program.  Everybody enjoyed winning $$$ either by striking on certain colored pin combinations or by leaving a colored pin on their 9-Tap strike.  The latter was the most popular way of winning $5.  I even heard somebody won their entry fee back just in colored pin payouts.  We won't be doing this every week, but look for it again in the future!   The scoring continues to be right in the "sweet spot" as the "Cutline" was 888 and the winning score was 994.  There was also a tie for 7th place so we added an extra payout of $60!  So overall 8 Members got paid their share of the $2,653.00 with a total of 37 entries recorded. Brian Blackman and Corben Etteldorf both had 300s so they split$140 from the 300 Progressive which had climb up to $175!  Jason Arrington and Anthony Geoffroy tapped the jackpot with 3 Taps each and split $50!  Tony Madolora survived Crazy 8s to "Win his Way In" and Norris Montague came in 2nd winning a partial entry!

Next week at Sam's Town there are 500 sweeper bowlers from California bowling on Saturday...... I am hoping some stick around on Sunday to boost up our entry count before they drive back home!

With 19 bowlers taking to the lanes at 11am, John Derespiris set the mark with his 953 series.  Consistent casher Ann McGee found her score of 939 good enough for second place.  With no challengers from the next squad, it was up to the 3pm squad of the day to shake things up.  Corben Etteldorf, in search of his first Las Vegas 9-Tap Tour title,  had a nice 300 for his second game but faltered a bit in game three with a 188.  This would put the pressure on him a little bit in his final game.  He did not need a big game, none the less, his last game of 244 locked up the victory! Corben picks up a VERY COOL payday of $675.00!  John Derespiris's score of 953 would get pushed to 2nd place and a nice check for $225.00!  Henry Murphymade a run for the title as well but fell short with his 951 score and a 3rd place finish worth $260.00!  Congratulations to Corben on his first Las Vegas Title and to the rest of the Members for making the "Cash List"  Another week with a very nice diversification of Winners from all skill levels.

Corben Etteldorf, a LIFE Member, originally joined the 9-Tap Tour in Seattle. Moving to Las Vegas he quickly joined the Las Vegas tourwhen it started.  Having recently re-dedicated himself to the sport of bowling and practicing as much as possible, Corben shared with me that he was having fun and taking it a shot at a time.  He was using his DV8 Vandal Destroy by Brunswick drilled up by Johnny Petraglia Jr at Sunset's BowlersMart.  Given that his birthday is in about two weeks, the extra prize money is going to ramp up the birthday fun he has planned!  Congrats on the win Corben, your efforts are paying off!
