Total Paid Out: $2,241.00
Nathan Freeman won his way in to the main event in our popularCrazy 8s contest this week. Second place finisher, Brian Edwardspicked up $20 toward his entry as well. Five new members joined the Tour also. Welcome aboard to Andrew Stewart, Jayda and Rory Hanlon, Edward Delius and Brian Edwards! There was a total of 39 entries paying out $2,241.00 to 8 Members on the "Cash List". Dennis Huston tapped the Jackpot for $100.00 with his 4 Taps. Alan Meyer had a shot for his first natural 300 but came up a little short on his twelfth shot for a 298 game. Nice game Alan!
New Member Brian Edwards set the bar early on with a very nice1008 series in the 11am squad. Not far behind was Layne Dacanaywith a nice 998 mark and then Tony Madolora with his 939 series. The second squad made up of some re-entries and first timers shook up the leaderboard again! Bruce Smith, in the hunt for title #3, avoided the lane switch jinx as he was in the zone for all four games. He posted an awesome 1105 series complete with a 300game. Dennis Huston, also hanging out in the zone with Bruce, posted a very cool 1041 series. This pushed Brian down to 3rd place. Undeterred by such impressive scores, 9 Members took to the lanes for the last squad to make their mark on the leaderboard. Two bowlers, Brian Blackman and Alex Watanabe had a shot to make the Top 3, but instead they finished high enough to move the"Cut Line" up one pin, narrowly avoiding a 3-way tie for last place. Bruce, in the Pro Pot for $10 picks up Title #3 and a check for$629.00. Dennis, in for a full $20 Pro Pot entry, takes second place and adds $353.00 to his career earnings. New Member, Brian Edwards cashes in his first event for a $191.00. Another awesome day of competitive bowling! Congratulations to all the cashers andBruce Smith. The Tour prides itself on having a format that creates such a level playing field for all its Members.
Bruce Smith now has his third title! Looking back to his second title in October at Red Rock, he won the same amount of cash: $629.00. Bruce Smith got in the zone early utilizing his Black Hammer drilled up by Keith Boyd at K&K Pro Shop at Gold Coast. The last time he won, Bruce commented it was the first time he had put together 4 good games. Apparently, he was able to duplicate that feat again to get #3.
