 It was another HOT Saturday in Las Vegas but that did not deter our Members from coming out yesterday to Sunset Station to create a total of 44 entries. With that number, 9 Members made the "Cash List" for their piece of of the $2,442.00 paid out. A very nice range of scores from 991 down to the cut line of 932 with handicaps ranging from -5 to 49 pins per game. A very nice diversification of Winners from all skill levels. Josh Marlo won the early Crazy 8s contest to start the day while the 300 Progressive went another week without being cracked bringing that pot up to a nice $175.00 for next week. Lola Anderson had some luck and tapped the Jackpot for $100.00 and she could not have been happier! Now on to the run down.........
At the conclusion of the 11am squad, the top 2 on the Leader Board were seperated by only just one pin. Leon Pitcher's 967 and Ann McGee's 966. These two numbers went unchallenged during the next squad, however, the last and largest squad of the day would end up "shaking up" the Leader Board. As the re-caps made their way to the desk to be verified, the leader would change a couple of times and then someone said there was a tie for first. For a skinny minute or two, the two "tied" Members commiserated over their shared win. However, upon offical verification, the winning score was 991, just two pins higher than the second place finisher's 989 series. Daryl Jeffries would pick up his second Tour Title along with $596.00 while Brian Blackman took 2nd place pocketing $341.00. 3rd Place and $190.00 would go to Albin Sutrick, missing out on his first Title by only 13 pins. Lesson learned: every spare and every pin counts! Congratulations Daryl, Brian, and Albin for being the Top Three this week!
Daryl Jeffries, having just become a Dad for a second time a couple
 of weeks ago with the birth of his son, now has another "second" with this Championship, having won his first Title back in October of 2016. Tossing his Primal Rage by Motiv, drilled up by Johnny Petraglia, Jr at Sunset's Bowlers Mart, Daryl remained determined and calm as winning some money would help pay down his bills. Congratulations Daryl on getting Title #2! |
