Total Paid Out: $2,133.00

Wrap Up
With extra bowlers in town for the TAT, the Gold Coast played host to the Tour's first Back-to-Back tournaments.  With the first event being our popular "Best 3 of 4" we had a total of 44 entries paying out $2,907.00 to 9 Members on the "Cash List".  Leon Pitcher took home a sweet $100.00 from the 9-Tap Jackpot with his 4-Taps andJason Arrington won the Crazy 8s contest.  On Day 2 we paid out $2,133.00 and an even bigger Jackpot pay out of $250.00 to Kenny Burnside for his 5-Taps!  The Crazy 8s was won by Renee Olis.

The eventual Top 3 in the "Best 3 of 4" format on Saturday would come from the last two squads of the day.  Okbum Shin put together 3 good games to put him on top of the leaderboard with a 763 series and a payday of $918.00 for 1st place.  Coming in 2nd place was Fred Arrington with a 759 series.  Fred took home $412.00 for his efforts.  Leon Pitcher snagged the 3rd place spot with his 734 total, good for a $284.00 payday.  Congratulations to everyone on the "Cash List"!

Okbum Shin moved to the United States 16 years ago from South Korea.  Having only taken up bowling 10 years ago, Okbum shared with us that he started out as a one handed bowler but 5 years ago he saw Jason Belmonte's two handed delivery and decided to try it out for himself.  He has not looked back after making the switch and Jason has become a role model for him.  Using his Timeless ball by Storm drilled up at Haynes Bowling Supply, Okbum was excited to get his first Tour title!  In attendance at most of his events his is daughter Yenny, who will be getting a brand new bowling bag from Dad in the near future.  Congratulations Okbum on your first 9-Tap Tour Title!

With Day One in the books, Sunday we hit the reset button and started all over again.  The early squad score to beat was a very nice 999 set by Kenny Burnside, a 9-Tap Tour Puget Sound Member.  Kenny's score survived the 2nd squad but was challenged by new Member James Hall in the last squad of the day.  Attacking the lanes from the outside, James needed to average 250 to overtake Kenny's score.  Going into his last game, he needed a 261 for the Title!  Falling just 24 pins shy of that goal, James would finish in 2nd place and take home $277.00.  New Member David Lankford would finish in 3rd place and pocket $188.00.  Kenny would hold on to take the Title worth $784.00 as well as the $250 he got from the 9-Tap Jackpot.  A very nice payday!  Congratulations Kenny on your first Las Vegas Title and to everyone on the "Cash List".

In town to bowl for a week, Kenny Burnside now has a Las Vegas Tour Title to go with his Puget Sound championship from 2016 win at Bowlero Lanes.  Using a Purple Pearl Hammer drilled up by Robert Kelly at Secoma Lanes, Kenny told us he found a great shot on the lanes and was able to stay with it through out his 4 games. Cheered on by his wife Samantha, Kenny's winnings are going to offset his expenses for this Vegas trip.  Congratulations Kenny on your Las Vegas championship!
