 Loading up the 9-Tap Tour Van early Saturday morning to head to Wildfire was extremely difficult as it was fiercely snowing in Las Vegas. Ok.......maybe not fiercely but there was snow....alright....tiny tiny flakes, but it was snow. Many thanks to our Members who braved the cold grey day to help contribute to 38 entries and a payout of $2,316.00. Competition started out strong with 13 entries into the Crazy 8s competition! And for the first time since Crazy 8s started, everyone became a Finalist and moved into the Last Man Standing round. When it was all said and done and a few rounds of 9 or better to determine a winner, Sammy Goss won his entry for the day and Terry Sherman earned a partial entry of $35! As always it was great fun to watch! Wildfire is building a reputation for the Jackpot to hit as Rebecca Danielson tapped it for a COOL $250.00 with her 5 Taps in game 4. Two others had 7 taps and even 8 taps in the middle of their games! Rebecca also wins a 2017 Member Rewards Book worth over $3500 from our sponsor LasVegasAdisor.com. The balance remaining for next week is still an AWESOME $3,073.00!
With this being a 'Best 3 out of 4' weekend, everybody got to drop that pesky low game to improve their chances of making the 'Cash List'. Jumping out to an early lead with an 842 with 3 strong hdcp games was Crystal Fulton. Crystal was last seen on the Tour way back in February of 2016. Content with her score and a wedding to attend, Crystal said she would come back after the nuptials to see if her score held up. Donald Jones made a charge for the lead at 2:30pm but came up 23 pins shy of the top with his 825 series. As the last squad came to an end, a few Members had a shot in the their closing frames to steal the Title from Crystal. And the Winner is......Robert Rawling. Robert finished off his set with a huge game to shoot an 870 series to win the first Tour Title of 2017 for $690.00 including his $10 progressive pot entry. Crystal, opting out of the Progressive Pot held on to 2nd place for $250.00 and Donald Jones completed the Top 3 and received a check for $236.00. This puts the Progressive Pot back over a grand at $1003.00. Congratulations to all of you!
Robert Rawling of Las Vegas joined the 9-Tap Tour back on April 2, 2016 at Sam's Town. The new champ is a 5 year veteran of the sport, and has a
 previous best finish of 4th place. To earn his title, he stood behind his Pitch Black by Storm, drilled up by Kyle at K&K-Sam's Town where he bowls in the Monday NFL and WednesdayFoxes & Hounds league. With his win, he has earned 10 points for his ball driller in the 2017 Pro Shop Contest. Robert has no special plans with his winnings, but with his wife Benji watching, we're sure she can figure out something to do with the $$$. Robert mentioned that he was very nervous in the last game, but he definitely kept the composure of a champion finishing strong, giving him the lead in the end. He would like to thank the 9-Tap Tour staff as well as Kenneth Fowler for inviting him to join. Now retired and aside from bowling, Robert enjoys playing softball and is involved in stock car racing. Congrats on being the Tour's newest champion. |
