Suncoast
Feb. 18th, 2017
Total Paid Out: $3,095.00
Suncoast kicked off Crazy 8s this weekend with 11 members creating 19entries. As Crazy 8s continue to grow, more members earn an entry into the main event. This week Al Slivka was able to be the “last man standing” to earn his entry. Norris Montague got a healthy piece of the pie by earning over half his main event entry. It took a total of 8 rounds in the finals to determine a winner, with our top two going head to head for four rounds. It only took both bowlers one $5 entry to cash, only 8 or better is needed, next week it could be you. With a total of 46 entries this weekend we saw 9 members make the ‘Cash List’ with a cut line of 952. We paid out a total of $3,095.00 and there was a 2-way tie to tap the No-Tap Jackpot with 3 taps between Richard Reedand new member Tim Raber taking advantage. Rolling over $3,269.00.00to Wildfire next week where we have had several “close calls” teasing the pot. While some bowlers prefer a slightly burned shot, others prefer bowling on a fresh pattern. That bowler this week also took advantage of a newpromotion earning the squad leader an entry into NEXT WEEK'S event. Greg Mamac became the 2nd member to reach his 3rd win, and earn his White Championship shirt to commemorate his achievement and pocketing a very nice check for $950.00. Leading the first squad with a 4-game score of 1047, Greg attempted to protect his 4 game series by bowling in squad 3. He remained safe as many tried, but fell short of reaching the bar that he set early on. Life Member Ken James gave his 3rd title run a shot, settling for a 2ndplace finish with 1009 total and $427.00 for his efforts. Michelle Kettlewas very close to her first title with a strong 3rd place finish and cashing for$248.00. Other top finishers were Guy Hirsimaki, Lenard Blackman,Derrick Chan, Daryl Jeffries, Al Slivka and Michael Cox.Congratulations to our newest White Shirt Champion and the rest of the top finishers. Greg Mamac of Henderson, joined the tour on Las Vegas’ inaugural event back in November 2015. Since then, Greg has had two previous wins including being last years 2nd Quarterly Champion at Santa Fe Lanes. Greg has been bowling for about 30 years, this weekend he used his Dream Big by 900 Global drilled at JB’s Bowling Supply by Jon Burroughs, thus earning Jon his first Pro Shop Points in the Pro Shop Contest. Greg currently bowls league Tuesday nights at Boulder Bowl. Plans with his winnings, simply saving it. He was cheered on by friends and other members bowling. He has been working for BMW for one year and enjoys racing exotic cars. Congratulations to Greg for his 3rd Tour Title! |
