The Orleans
Jan. 14th, 2017

Total Paid Out: $2,979.00

Wrap Up

It was a crazy day at The Orleans starting off with Crazy 8s. There were 10 contestants totaling 17 entries including re-buys. It took 6 rounds of competition to get to our final 2. Just bowling in her 2nd event, Barbara Barnett squared up against Richard Wash for a showdown that went 3 rounds between the two. In the end, Richard came through to win his way into the first squad, while Barbara, the lone lady in the group, settled for a partial entry.  Even the spectators enjoyed the back and forth competition.

The Orleans is building a reputation as a strong scoring house.  So when competitive scores get put up, our Members don’t give up. With a total of52 entries, 10 members made the “Cash List”, with a 4 game cut score of982. Going into squad 3, we had a 4 way tie for the Jackpot with 3 Taps. That was soon to be broken up by Leham Reed, who quietly slid his way in front, breaking the 4 way split with his 4 taps earning him $100.00 from the 9-Tap Jackpot. But that wasn’t the end of the craziness. Leading the first squad was Rebecca Danielson with a strong 1027 series, which would have been fine until Sharon Balboa and John Catiller stormed into the 2nd squad with a 1027 to match. Could there be a 3 Way Tie for the Title? One bowler went the distance to make sure it did not happen.  However, by breaking the tie, our newest Champion also becomes our FIRST back-to-back LV Tour Champion!  Robert Rawling, coming fresh off of his first tour win, rings in the new year with two Titles! His 4 game total of 1049was enough to secure a second payday of $771.00. The 3 Way tie for second proved to challenging dividing up the Pro Pot as two were in for $10 and the other in for $20.  Rebecca Danielson and Sharon Balboa would cash for $213.00 each and John Catiller put $263.00 in his pocket!  The rest of the 'Cash List  Leham ReedAl GarciaLeon PitcherDerrick ChanBrian Blackman and Christine Fowler. Congrats to all!

Who’s Next? That was the question asked at the conclusion of last week's newsletter. Well after reading his own bio, Robert Rawling responded withan “I AM” backing up his performance in the previous week. Not much has changed from 7 days ago, besides earning another 10 points for the K&K Pro Shop inside Sam’s Town where he bowls league. Robert showed up to win, but didn’t really expect it, mentioning that is $10 contribution to the Progressive pot didn’t make it to $20 because “what are the odds of winning back-to-back”?  Well Robert, the odds were in your favor and if Robert is a bit superstitious, he might delay shaving off his beard for a few more weeks.  A couple notes to everyone:  Remember that every pin counts, and to believe in yourself. Great bowling Robert and congratulations.  Now who’s next?  Will it be you?
