Wildfire
Nov. 19th, 2016
Total Paid Out: $2,016.00
There was some pretty hot bowling this weekend at Wildfire. Starting with Crazy 8s, we had 11 participants with 20 total entries. A record 9 of 11 bowlers advanced to the Final Round, one by one bowlers were eliminated after throwing less than 8. In the end, Sean Carney and Jim Eckersonwent head-to-head in a 9 or better format. On the very last shot, Sean rolled a strike while Jim got 8, earning Sean an entry and Jim received a $30credit toward his entry. Jim also tapped out for $50.00 from the No Tap Jackpot which now sits at $3,084.00. Now on to the recap of the tournament..... With 49 entries on the books, 8 Members burned up the lanes to make the 'Cash List'. Thanks to Crazy 8s we are seeing an increase in entries for the first squad. Turning up the heat was Terry Sherman who led the first squad with a 1053, and not far behind was Kenneth Fowler with a 1012. In the second squad, Ron McGinnis led the way with a nice 1069. Ellena Dominguez started off blazing and left the lanes engulfed in flames when she shot her first 300 game! She finished with a fine 1048. The third squad had a few fighters trying to extinguish the high score, but in the end Ron McGinnis won his first Tour Title and a fine payday of $500.00 and an invitation to the Year End Championship in December. Just a couple weeks back, Ron put together 6 No-Tap strikes to earn him$500.00 from the Jackpot, so I have given him the nickname Mr. 500. Terry Shermantried his best to defend his Wildfire Title but settled for a 2nd place finish and $392.00. Ellena Dominguez made another Top 3 appearance and cashed for $236.00. Congratulations to all our finalists. Awesome bowling! Ron McGinnis of Las Vegas joined the tour back on July 16th at Sunset Station. He has been bowling for about 25 years, and his previous best cashwas recording those 6 No-Tap strikes at Texas Station. Ron used his Storm Lock drilled at K&K at Sam’s Town where he bowls league on Friday night. With his winnings, he says he will be taking care of bills, and that always helps during the holiday season. Ron has been working for Union Cab Co. for about 2 years and is thanking God for his finish. Outside of work and bowling, Ron spends his time “Lovin Life”, which isn’t a bad pastime. We would like to congratulate Ron on his first victory, and apologize not being able to fulfill his request for a black shirt, (carrying on Johhny Cash's persona) but were pretty sure you’ll look fine in BLUE. |
