Wrap Up

We challenged bowlers to bring a friend Saturday and you guys 'Rose to the Occasion' bringing 13 new Members to Sunset, swelling our membership total to an impressive 312 Members.  Each week we continue to grow thanks to the efforts of our dedicated Members who share their positive experiences with other bowlers.  The scores were perfectly within our target range this week, with an ideal 'Cut'Line' at 933... the exception to the On-Target scores was the incredible Winning score, which ran away with the Title by a huge 80 pin margin of victory.  The Progressive Pot got off easy this week as the eventual winner did not get in the pot and the 2nd and 3rd place finishers were in for only $10.00 leaving the Pot to make a GIANT LEAP to a RECORD $1,984.00 for next Sunday at Red Rock.  The 9-Tap Jackpot paid out a Consolation of $100.00 shared by Charles Mathews and John Paul Allarde Jr for their 4-Taps.  The Jackpot now passes the $2,000.00 mark for the first time, now standing at a RECORD $2,145.00, which also triggers increases to the Consolation payouts.  Those two BIG Pots could both help produce several payout RECORDS at next week's Tournament, including a potential record high payouts for the TOP 3 Places.

Our eventual 3rd place finisher Susan Emery found a path to shoot a very nice 1009 with 4 very nice scratch games over 200 and pocket $280.00 despite just $10 in the Pro Pot.  Terry Sherman bowling in the last squad of the day, put together an impressive 1018 to take 2nd place and a welcome payday of $495.00 for his first time on the cash list.  Bowling along side Terry, was Jimmy Bell Jr our Sunset Champion.  Jimmy tossed an AWESOME 1098 series to take home $750.00 and he knows he made a lot of new Tour friends, as the $602.00 he could have earned from the Progressive Pot, all carries over to next week's Pot.  Interestingly enough to note, the Top 3 all had the same handicap of 27 pins per game and 10 out of their 12 games bowled were over 200 scratch.  Finishing in 4th place was new member Nick Pabilonia who picked up some nice CASH in the scratch pots to add to his prize money.  Very impressive bowling by all!

Jimmy joined the Tour at our stop at the Silver Nugget in April.  Bowling with his Columbia 'Momentum Swing' drilled up by Jimmy G. at the SilverNugget.  Our newest Champ started off with a respectable 193 game, then closed with 3 strong games for his huge winning series.  When he 'Caught Fire' in game #2, he nearly hit the Jackpot with SEVEN 9-Taps in eight frames.  One natural strike in his 3rd frame blocked him from hitting the Jackpot, costing him an additional $1,579.00 payday.   Jimmy's best finish he could recall was in a junior league in 1989.  Here's hoping that having won this Tour title with his wife, brother, and cousins, Dre and Crystal cheering him on will be one of many new bowling memories to look back on in the future.  Way to explode onto the Cash List Jimmy with your first Tour Title.

Congratulations to Daryl Jeffries as he was the winner of the free bowling shirt from our shirt sponsor, the Out of the Ordinary Company

Make sure you join us next week at Red Rock Lanes on SUNDAY at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.  This will be our first stop at this location and we are looking forward to it!
