Dad's Day yielded a good turnout at Sunset Station with 67 entries and some very impressive scores.  We paid out nearly $4,000 overall while 13 members made the 'Cash List'.  While our target range for scores was a bit off the mark this week, the diversity of handicaps on the cash list was spot on.  Participation in the 9-Tap Jackpot was strong, jumping the total up to $2,808.00 after paying out $100.00 to Henry Murphy.  Even the Pro Pot moved upward to $992.00.  Very nice numbers to look forward to when the Tour returns to competition on July 9th at Gold Coast.  We had 33 Dads enter the Dad's Day High Handicap Game Pot which was sweetened with $200.00 added by the Tour.  The 4 GREAT DADS with the best Hdcp games of the day were:  Ken Fowler (319 - $170), Alex Bustamane (312 - $85), Vernon Nakamoto (305 - $60), and Henry Murphy (303 - $50).  Congratulations to our winning Dads and to all our Dads on the Tour.

Don Nagamine posted the score to beat early on with a 1082 series. Sammy Goss, on a re-entry at 1pm put the target square on his back by finishing off his set with a No-Tap 300 to take the lead with a SIZZLING 1118.  On a high scoring day, would Sammy's score hold up through the final squad?  There was a nice sized squad at 3pm, with 29 Members taking aim at Sammy.  When it was all over, two bowlers came within a mark of denying Sammy Goss his first Tour title.  Alex Bustamante finished just 4 pins behind Sammy with an 1114 set.  Right behind Alex, was David Eastburn, having joined just last week, with an 1107.  Sammy takes home a GREAT 1st place check in the amount of $1,009.00 while Alex cashed for a COOL $469.00  and David rounds out the Top 3 and takes home $307.00

Sammy Goss, with 16 years of bowling experience, used a Columbia 300 Insane Antics drilled up by Keith Boyd over at Gold Coast.  He told us thathe did not bowl well in his first entry, but felt comfortable enough with the shot to try again.  Cheered on by his wife, Sammy said he quickly got in the "zone" on his re-entry.  With no special plans for his windfall, other than paying some bills, Sammy expressed his gratitude to the 9-Tap Tour staff for running a very well organized tournament.  We thank Sammy for his compliments and for his support.  Congratulations on your BIG WIN and first title on the Tour.

Some other notable achievements include five No-Tap 300s, 2 of which were thrown back to back by Mark Kight.  Alex Watanabe's 300 was almost a natural as he started one of his games with the front 9 only to leave a 10 pin in the tenth frame.  Congrats to all our new No-Tap 300 club members.

The Tour will return on July 9th at Gold Coast after a two week summer break.  Stay cool as those triple digit temps are on the way again.  See you there!
