Silver Nugget - Las Vegas, NV
April 30th, 2016

Total Paid Out: $4,826.00

Wrap Up

What an AWESOME day at Silver Nugget on our second Flash FoodSaturday in three weeks!  This time there was no leaky roof to contend with as the heavens opened up on Las Vegas creating hazardous conditions all over town.  There was one exception, however, as the conditions were perfect inside the Silver Nugget Bowling Center for a great day of competitive bowling!  Not knowing what to expect as this was our first visit to this center, we did 83 entries, (above our average), over $4,800.00 paid out (a top 3 record), a very busy bracket table, (on Char's Birthday), 3 ties on the Cash List, (last place tie creates an extra paid spot) with 18 people getting prize money!  A very diversified cash list with handicaps ranging from -5 to 46 and scores being in the target zone.  Apparently the 'carry' was pretty good at the Nugget, as the 9-Tap Jackpot went untouched for the first time this year, so next week the Jackpot will be a hefty $1,850.00.  A Special thanks to Ms. VickiTheresa Byrd and the rest of the Silver Nugget staff for hosting our Tour and the special drawing prizes for each squad.  Ann McGeeMichelle KettleOrrie SmithLouis Catiller andTess Li all won food vouchers for the restaurant at Silver Nugget.

Now for the details... Using our 'Best 3 of 4' format, (drop your low game),Christine Fowler (driving in from just outside Boulder City in the rain) posted a strong 810 series in the 12 Noon squad.  Many bowlers re-entered in an effort to best Christine's score, however, no one was successful (Seattle also had a 'Best 3 of 4' Tournament Saturday & Christine also beat their winning score of 799).  Daryl Jeffries, bowling at 5pm, closed his series out with an impressive 300 game for a 782 total, but that was only enough to secure a 2nd place finish and an AWESOME check for $610.00Mary Waldorf, one of our recent new members, had a 770 series for a 3rd place finish and a NICE check for $305.00.  Congratulations to our top 3!

Christine Fowler is one of our original 50 members and has been bowling for 18 years.  Her 1st place finish earns her a nice check and her bestpayday (so far) of $1,326.00.  She rolled her winning score with her Black Gold Spike by Hammer drilled up by Johnny Petraglia Jr at Sunset Station.  Commenting she was a little nervous during practice not knowing what to expect from the lane conditions, Christine said the back ends were strong which helped her get in the 'ZONE' early.  She also thanked the 9-Tap Tour staff commenting that, "It takes a special group of people to keep the Tour a well-oiled machine."  Cheered on to victory by her husband, Kenneth, (while trying to defeat her) and her son Jordan, Christine plans on re-investing her winnings back in to the Tour.  While we appreciate your plans to re-invest with us, go out and have some fun with some of that CASH!  You earned it.  Congratulations on your first Tour title!

Thanks again to Silver Nugget, we can't wait to come back!
