Sam's Town - Las Vegas, NV
April 2nd, 2016

Total Paid Out: $4,066.00

Wrap Up

With over $60,000.00 paid out in just 11 tournaments, the Las Vegas 9-Tap Tour is shaping up to be quite successful. Sam's Town did not disappoint with a perfect set of scores, right on our 'target range', with 1029 taking the Title and a 'Cut-Line' at just 926.  14 Members made the 'Cash List' with a total of $4,066.00 being paid out.  New Tour Member, Eric Esteves hit a Trifecta by reaching the Cash List (5th), taking another $60.00 from the Scratch Pot (950 scratch series) and tossing the front 4-Taps, to earn another $100.00 from the 9-Tap Jackpot Consolation.

As the day unfolded at Sam's Town, the score to beat was set in the first squad, on the fresh oil.  An incredible 1029 was posted by Alena Adrianse.  Her score would be challenged by many, but it managed to holdup throughout the day.  Alena just joined the Tour a couple of weeks ago and started Saturday with an impressive string of EIGHT real strikes, in the middle of her first game.  She was pretty excited with her BIG Win, worth a hefty $1,303.00, thanks in part to her Ruckus DV8 Feud, drilled up by Bill Hall at Texas Station.  Alena commented she felt calm and comfortable throughout her four games.  She plans to put her winnings to work, helping to finance a mission trip to Belarus with her church.  She thanked Jerry Francomano, at Texas Station for telling her about the Tour and thanked us for making her feel welcome.  Congratulations Alena on your win and we hope your mission trip is successful!

Jermal Williams, took home the 2nd place check of $506.00 with a solid 1015 series, but that doesn't really tell the story... Entering his final game, he had the chance to become Las Vegas's first two time Champion.  He needed a MONUMENTAL 299 game (with hdcp) to take it down, but with only 6 pins of handicap, that meant he needed the first ELEVEN strikes... he got NINE!  Unfortunately, his first shot in the tenth left the 3-9, spoiling his Championship run, but leaving him with just enough to slip into 2nd Place.  GREAT EFFORT Jermal!!  Our 3rd Place finisher, and the current Bowler of the Year leader, Ellena Dominguez, fell just short in her bid to win her first title.  Making her run even more impressive, is how well she's continued to perform, despite a substantial increase in her Tour average.  She took home a really nice 3rd place check for $347.00 and lengthened her B.O.Y. lead.  But, there's still a long way to go in that race.

Many thanks again to Tom and his staff at Sam's Town.  Another perfect and VERY smooth running event in the books.
