Wrap Up
As the heavens gave us rain again, a smaller than usual turnout meant that many Members missed a great opportunity to make the Cash List, when we had lower than usual scores.  The low to Cash at Gold Coast was only an 897 and just 2 bowlers managed to break the 1000 mark.  It was actually 3 scores topping 1000 but one didn't count... the first squad leader (1002) decided to bowl again after he got bumped to 2nd place (1008) in the 2:30squad.  He not only beat his original score, he re-took the lead with an impressive 1041.  Our special Mom's Day Pot was won by Ann McGeefor $160.00 and Susan Emery took 2nd place for $75.00.  When Cielito Oreste, Scott Re & Bill Gannon shared just $75.00 for their 3-Taps, it allowed the 9-Tap Jackpot to grow to a hefty $1,974.00 for next week.  Once the Jackpot breaks $2000.00 the consolation prizes increase!  The Progressive Pot also increased to a very nice $1,204.00.

The first squad leader Rick Masangcay shot his 1002 by overcoming a bad 3rd game.  He knew he could do better if he could put four good gamestogether.  Rick decided 2nd place was not good enough, so he re-entered the last squad, which proved to be a 'Stroke of Genius'.  He did what he hoped to do with 4 strong games together for a solid 1041.  That was good enough for him to take this first Tour Title, by a nice 33 pin margin.  Rick and his wife Ludee saw our 9-Tap Tour ad in the Bowling World magazine and decided to make the drive from California to give our Tour a try.  He used his Roto-Grip 'Hyper Cell' to post two of the three 1000s rolled all day.  Having $10 in the Pro Pot limited his payday to $880.00... but Rick said after bowling for 10 years, his best previous tournament payoff had been $610.  So, now he has a new personal best payday to beat next time.  He told us he was pretty lucky, so he planned to do some gambling with his winnings.  Hope he parlayed that luck and increased his bankroll.  Congratulations on your win Rick and your first Tour title!

A very consistent Sean Carney's 1008 series was his personal best and it looked like it might be enough to Win it.  He was cheered on (and coached) by his Mom... on Mother's Day weekend no less.  Sean debated on bowling again but decided to let his score ride. hoping it would hold up.  Sean ended up in 2nd place for his best payoff to date of $424.00.  Don Nagamine posted a respectable 958, which included a great 278 game, for 3rd Place and a COOL $336.00.  Congratulations to our Top 3 this week!
