Paradise Bowl
Jan. 12th, 2025

Total Paid Out: $13,460.00

Wrap Up

Thank you to Wylie and his team at Bowlero-Paradise in Parkland for hosting the first 9-Tap Tournament of 2025. We really want to THANK ALL the bowlers Sunday, for making our 'multi-move' experiment such a smooth success.  There was plenty of very positive responses, but as we expected, every opinion on the spectrum was heard.  We learned a lot and as we shared, this is the format we should be using, but tight time limitations in many Centers will limit how often we can use it.

We witnessed quite a few BIG games at Paradise, but not many bowlers put multiple big games together.  Whether the lack of multiple big games was the result of moving lanes after every game, is a great subject for debate, but for the 4th straight Tourney at Paradise, with the winning score between 799 & 811 and 3rd straight with only ONE bowler reaching 800.

INSTANT $20: The 9-Tap Jackpot actually got off easy Sunday, with an extra of just $580.00 paid-out and only three Members 'Double-Dipped' collecting the $20 Bills twiceWalt Dalrymple, Troy Breeding & Charles Clarke

The 9-Tap Jackpot was again under serious assault this week.  As we shared last week, our previous visit in November produced TWO $750.00 payouts.  Sunday, we had FOUR bowlers earning the chance to throw ONE-BALL for $750.00.  Brian Solinski collected $375.00 for his Front-5 Taps, after missing the $750.00 on shot #6, but just to spice up the story, he came back getting a 9-count on #7... while Raymond Sedeno, Bria Johnson & July Soun each had a chance for the 7-Middle Taps and $750.00

Brian Solinski's Front 5 for $375.00

1st Place - Jesse Sherman - After a 2-year dry spell, Jesse Sherman who joined the Tour in 2019, starts out 2025 winning his 5th Championship earning him the first NEW '5-STAR' Champion Jersey (pic below), to be produced by our new shirt maker Bowlifi.  Jesse shot the only 800 series and collected a sweet check in the amount of $2,368.00 which he plans on using on a family visit to Indiana.  Jesse wore his Dexter shoes, threw his Storm Mix ball, was feeling calm, and shot a great first game of 298 (320 with handicap). He also shot a 734 Scratch High Series for an extra $160.00 and a 298 Scratch High Game for another $160.00, from the Scratch Pot.  Jesse held off all the challengers chasing his 800 series, winning the Tournament by a mere TWO PINS.

2nd Place - Joe Phinazee, whojoined the Tour in June of 2024, was on fire shooting a 798 Series, just 2 pins from first place and a whopping 205 pins above his best 9-Tap Tour 3 Game Series for a  very nice payday of $1,067.00.  Joe initially thought he shot enough to win, but an addition error on his recap was detected, which left him those 2 pins short.

3rd Place - Matthew Hert, joined the Tour in February of 2023 and has won two 1st Place Titles.  Matt shot a nice 778 Series, 74 pins higher than his best 9-Tap Tour 3 Game Series and earned a nice check for $504.00 for his effort.
