It’s been since 2008, 16 years, that the tour has returned to Tech City Bowl.  It is a very nice bowling alley, and the food is very good.  It’s not too often that the lanes offer a full menu.  We would like to thank Danny Bratcher and his crew for providing a very well run tournament.  One big concern was what kind of pattern do we put out?  Well we hit it right on target!  With 122 bowlers showing up there was 3 – 800 series and a low to cash of 718 in 23rd place, right in the sweet spot.  

The 9 Tap Jackpot stood at a huge $9869.00, and has grown to that level, as each week there has only been 3 or 4 taps hit.   So as an incentive we brought back “get the front 2 taps for $10.00”.  We had 18 bowlers take advantage of this feature with Cory Stapleton and Jon Paul Coppersmith collecting twice.  We had a close run to the front 7 taps as Cory Stapleton hit the front 5 Taps, only to strike for his 6th try.  Cory’s effort got him an extra $375.00 for the day.  

Winning his first singles championship is Donnie “bubble boy” Roberts.  Donnie has the reputation of just finishing outside the cash list, hence the name Bubble Boy.  Donnie and wife Joyce just returned from a cruise last week where he was in a bowling tournament on the ship.  I think he got his game together on his vacation. Donnie laced upped his Dexter SST-9 shoes and grabbed his Roto-Grip Exotic Gem ball and ripped a nice 288 game out of the gate and finished with a huge 827 series.  Donnie would like to thank Leon Bemis, Ed Berg, Walt Darlymple, and Skip Shear for cheering him on. Donnie takes home a nice check for $1490.00, where he is putting it in his vacation fund.  

Joining back in March of 2023, Ashton Recardo recorded his best finish on the tour, with an awesome 2nd place finish at Tech City.  In only his 10th entry on the Tour, he’s had quite a turn-around after a slow Tour start (not unusual), lately coming thru with now his second Top 4 Finish.  Ashton was hot as he fired a blistering 805 series and collected a huge check of $892.00. 

Taking third is now the new heartbreak kid Gilbert Montejano.  We think this now is the third time where Gilbert came out leading after the 1st squad but that big old target on his back bit him.  Firing a nice 801 series, this was going to be a tough score to beat.  Gilbert takes home $439.00 for his 3rd-3rd place finish.
