This week the 9-Tap Tour made a stop up north to Bowlero Lanes in Lynnwood.  With an unusual weekend of no construction projects on the freeways in the Seattle - Bellevue area, we had a solid turnout of 132 bowlers, paying out 26 bowlers, with a cut line of 910.

Before the Tournament started we presented our 2022 Bowler of the Year, Thang Duc Thai with his Championship Ring.  Congratulations Thang!

As usual in a tournament you have good scores, bad scores, or every once in awhile Perfect Scores of 300.  We had two 300 scores on Saturday.  The first one was his 1st on the Tour, Korby Kencayd which helped him for a strong score (see below how strong), and the 2nd 300 was done by one of our most senior members (who turned 90 last month)  Leon Bemis.

The 9-Tap Jackpot didn't get much action on the front end of games, but there were a few runs in the middle.  Dale Roberts Jr. accomplished the feat of hitting the Middle-7, throwing a great ball in the pocket but leaving the 8 pin to pocket a cool $750.  Later on in the tournament, the aforementioned, Korby Kencayd tried his luck hitting 7 in a row, but a perfect strike cost him the big money.  The 9-Tap Jackpot next week will be at $8,692.

Bowling can be such a numbers sport and they all line up, as it did for our Champion this week.  This was the case for Red Mateo for his #1 Championship, scoring 1111.  To make things more coincindental is that Red and his wife, Marilyn, got to the tournament early and decided to start on Lane 11.  Red was wearing his Dexter shoes, using his Brunswick Melee drilled by Joe Jeh at Hi Joy Bowl in Port Orchard.  Red, who has worked for the government for 39 years, would like to thank the support of his wife, Marilyn, and his kids.  Red said that the only plan for his 1st Place, $2,040 check, is that his wife will be taking it.

Taking 2nd place this week, with his highest career finish, Jack Dompier.  Jack's score of 1008 was also a career high score for him, earned him $926.

As we mentioned before, Korby Kencayd had a strong series with a Perfect Score, and a run on 9-Taps to take 3rd place in the tournament.  Korby scored an even 1000 to for his highest finish on the Tour and earned $494 for his efforts.
