Wrap Up

Happy New Year 2022, as the Tour celebrates our 20th Anniversary with our famous 'Multi-Cash' Doubles at Narrows Plaza.  Doubles is the only format that a bowler can Cash more than once, as long as you have a different partner.  What we witnessed this weekend was some spectacular bowling.  We had one of the largest Doubles turnouts ever with a HUGE 193 entries and a Cash List of 39 Places with 78 checks written.  We had a Monstrous Total-Payout this week with an unbelievable $11,138.00, including a hefty Winners Pot of $1,720.00.  Most impressive was NINETEEN bowlers cashing at least twice, with 4 of them cashing 5 times, Earl Kleist, Jon Schneider, Thang Duc Thai and Skip Vernon Jr.  Cashing SEVEN times was Tim Fierro, but Brian Peters was the HOT bowler this weekend, cashing in TEN times this weekend and grinning ear-to-ear for hours.  We thought this was a record, but looking back over the years, we had one top that feat with a Record 11 times cashing, Hall-of-Famer Earl Kleist.  We had many bowlers shoot over 500 w/handicap Saturday, causing a major shake-up on the cash list in every squad, including the Top Spot which changed hands FOUR times.

With the oversized 9-Tap Jackpot at $8,165.00 and the blistering pace of the scoring, we thought the Jackpot might be hit.  But quite the opposite happened, as we only had 3 players manage the Front-3 Taps Isaac Joseph, Thang Thai and Will Beleford all collected $75.00 for their efforts.  This just grew the 9 Tap Jackpot to a unreal level of $8,611.00 for next week.

Sneaking into the last squad of the day, Jesse McReynolds & John Schneider certainly made their only entry of the day count.   Jesse and Jon just crushed it this weekend, shooting 571 and 516 respectively, for a spectacular 1077 total.  This is Jesse McReynolds third Championship and his second Doubles Title, having Won the 2020 'Kick-Off' Doubles with his brother Jason.  Lacing up his Dexter SST-9s, he grabbed his Motiv Rogue Assassin, drilled by Tom Stahl and just lit up the lanes.                                                                   He would like to thank his Mom, Brother and girl friend Princess Alot for cheering him on.  Jason and Princess finished in fifth place with a 1034 series, which is her very FIRST time on the Cash LIst!  His Doubles partner and now THIRTEEN time Champion is Jon Schneider, who wanted to thank Jason for carrying him.  Truthfully, Jon held his own, with a solid 516 series.  Jon's weapon of choice was his Storm Fearless, drilled by Robert Kelly at Secoma Lanes.  Jon said he got lined up after the 4th frame in the first game by making a ball change.  After the change, he was consistently in the pocket last game and a half.  For their Championship, they split a huge check of $2,132.00.

After leading the 4th squad with a super 1061 series, Barb Rosengren & Brian Peters held on to finish in 2nd Place.  This would have been Barb's 3rd Title and Brian's 2nd, if Jon & Jesse hadn't gotten so HOT.  Cashing twice today, at 2nd and 36th place, Barb shot a nice 489 series to support Brian's KILLER 572 series, which was the high individual score of the day.  Barbs biggest Title came last year as she won the 2020 Year-End Championship at Narrows Plaza Barb's partner Brian Peters was in the zone Saturday, cashing in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 8th,13th,16th, 20th, 23rd & 28th place, for a near record 10 times Cashing.  Even with the lead in their hands, Brian re-entered, firing a sweet 529 series and adding four more checks to his impressive Bounty.  Barb and Brian shared a nice 2nd Place check worth $1,066.00

3rd Place went to the Super Duo of Brian Peters & Tim Fierro, who had SEVENTEEN Cashes between them.  Tim was solid all day, shooting 446, 477 & 491 and matching up with Brian's near perfect 572 for a great 1049 for the pairing.  They split the 3rd Place check of $452.00, pushing Brian's total to $1,404.00 for the day and Tim took home a nice round $500.00.
