Bowlero Lynnwood
Sept. 17th, 2022

Total Paid Out: $8,046.00

Wrap Up
The Tour has the most tenacious bowlers in the Puget Sound area, as many fought through the horrible traffic as they headed up to Bowlero-Lynnwood this weekend.  Strangely, both I-5 and 405 were having construction projects, making the drive difficult, but our determined bowlers made it a great turnout.  With 126 entries for our 'Best 3 of 4' format, we had 25 players make the Cash List with a perfect low-to-cash score of 722.  We always shoot for the scoring to fall within our "Goldilocks Zone"... this week the Top scores were a shade lower than normal, as no one cracked the 800 mark, although the Champ reached 799.  This just made the Tournament a free for all, as the Top Spot was within easy reach all day, for anyone getting hot.  The Jackpot was under assault in every squad Saturday!  Cal Fisher set the bar high, as he strung the Front-5 early in the 1st Squad, ultimately it held on for a $250.00 payday.  NUMEROUS bowlers made runs of and 6 Taps chasing the Middle-7 Taps, but each finding the feat elusive, but it didn't stop our bowlers trying over and over.  Notable examples... newcomer Ian McDougall finished one game with 6-Taps, only to run out of frames, but he did start the next game with a 9-Tap to add a little salt to the wound.  Ajay Jarata DID get a shot at #7, giving him ONE-BALL for $500.00.  Ajay threw a beautiful ball, that produced moans from those watching, when $500.00 went POOF thanks to a solid strike!  The 9-Tap Jackpot keeps creeping up each week, getting nearer to the $8,000.00 level, when all Bonus will increase by 50%.  For next week at Bowlero Lanes, the Jackpot climbs to an impressive $7,567.00.

This week's Tour Champion Adam Hamlet, has had an impressive run of Top finishes, but could not breakthrough for his first Title... until Saturday.  His run so far has earned him THREE 5th places, TWO 3rd and 4th place finishes and THREE 2nd Place finishes.  Twice this year, Adam has had the lead going into the final squad at Skyway, both times Tour Hall of Fame member Roland Jarata caught him... in April the difference was only THREE PINS!!  Adam has worked hard to improve his game this year and it's finally paid off for him, becoming the Tour's 15th 1st-Time Champion in 2022.  Using his Lordfield Terminator Red Eye, drilled by Robert Kelly at Secoma Lanes, Adam fired off his nice 799 series.  Bowling in the 3rd squad, Adam got hot and just stayed in that famous 'groove'.  Adam has had one of the best attitudes despite the disappointments, and as he says, "As long I'm physically bowling well, I can live with the results"  He admitted that waiting for his first Title was the hardest part.  Adam would like to thank his best friend Will Twyman and everyone who has encouraged him and offered support.  Adam says this time he's going to try and save his $2,030.00 winnings, obviously his largest payday yet.  Nice bowling AdamCONGRATS on your first victory.

Coming off a 3rd Place finish last week, 2nd Place this week goes to a 6-Time Tour Champion, Walt Dalrymple.  Walt was the leader after the 2nd squad, firing a nice 780 series, just two pins ahead of then 2nd Place.  Walt had a shot at the Title with a big final game, but the bowling gods didn't cooperate.  Walt looks like he's really heating up, and could a contender in the coming weeks.  Walt travels from Moses Lake to compete and he takes home a nice check of $912.00 for his effort.

Accomplishing an outstanding feat, newcomer Ian McDougall not only finished in 3rd Place, he came close to hitting the Jackpot for $500.00 (7M Taps).  Ian joined the Tour on Saturday and enjoyed it so much he re entered in the 2nd squad where fired a very nice 778 series, which in the end was just two pins back of 2nd Place.  Ian, that's not a bad start on your 9-Tap Tour career.  He takes home his first check of $364.00, which was limited by only being allowed $10 in the Pro Pot.
