Total Paid Out: $8,370.00

Wrap Up

With a 126 bowlers coming to Kent Bowl trying for the Title this weekend, we saw some unbelievable scoring from the Top 4 Kent Bowl always gives us the just right 'Goldilocks' scoring and this week was no different, for the most part.  The Cash List had 25 places, with 5th place at a nice 993 series down to a 938 for 25th.  These scores just show how tight the competition was with just 55 pins separating 5th to 25th.   The Top FOUR bowlers were clearly in that FAMOUS 'Zone', as if they must have flown in from another planet, with the gap between 4th to 5th also being 55 PINS.  Starting the day Dale "the Dancing  Machine" Coleman fired a beautiful 1048 series to lead the day with a 79 pin advantage over second place of 969.  With the scoring mostly in that narrow band, the thought was Dale's total might be a tough score to beat.  But amazingly, THREE bowlers would Top his score before the day was done.  The 9-Tap Jackpot stood at a healthy $7,200.00 and although we had a number of attempts at the Middle 7-Taps, with several stringing 5-Middle Taps in-a-row,  nobody was hitting what was an elusive #6 Saturday.  At the end of the day Dale Coleman and Brandon Taylor each took home $100.00 for hitting the Front-4 Taps.  That left the Jackpot to make a nice jump to $7,479.00 for Bowlero-Lynnwood in 2 weeks.

Our Winner this week and now a THREE time Champion is Peter Davis.  Peter joined the Tour back in 2014 and just last month he shot his Personal Best Series while Winning his 2nd Career Title.  Saturday he again SHATTERED that PB, this time by  a HUGE 134 pins, with a hefty cushion of 113 pins over 2nd Place.  He was SO EXCITED by his ENORMOUS score, he really wanted to know if that was the highest series shot on the Tour at Kent Bowl.  So we exhaustively searched 20 years of statistics to find out.  We discovered that Randy Laed held that record for16 years after shooting 1150 in 2003... nearly matched by Dan Elliott with 1149 in 2013... finally topped in 2019 by Samson Ibale's mind blowing 1166 SCRATCH Series (he had 0 hdcp that day)... and YES Peter, CONGRATS you just set the new Kent Bowl standard with your SPECTACULARLY FREAKISH 1177.  Using his Radical Incognito, Peter's Record series included his 2nd Tour 300 game and he almost fired his 3rd, ending up with a 286 game.  He was in that 'Zone' like he's never been before, solidly hitting the pocket all day long.  Peter's quote of the day... he said he was "Hell on Fire"!  Peter also takes home the largest check of his Tour Career, a sweet $2,103.00.  When asked what he's doing with his Winnings, his unique answer was that he was going to just 'spend it'.

Kent Bowl Champion "Peter Davis"

2nd place goes to Hall-of Fame Member Earl 'The Machine' Kleist.  A long time staple on the Tour, Earl really likes to bowl and practices nearly every day.  How much of a 'Zone' was Earl in on Saturday?  The TWELVE time Champion fired his best series since June 2018.  After firing 856 and 831 Earl finally got lined up and could not miss, firing an impressive 1060.  His only short comings was a 200 game, but even with a better score he might not have had enough to catch Peter.  His Scratch Series of 1020 earned him an additional $145.00 from the Scratch Pot, to go with his $941.00 for 2nd Place.

Another bowler shooting his Personal Best series and also his Best Finish on the Tour, Curtis White is your 3rd place finisher this week.  Firing a great 1055, which would usually be enough to take 1st Place, Curtis was remarkably consistent in each of his 4 games.  Despite this being his best finish, this was Curtis's second best payday, only topped by his 1st place finish in the Special Vet's Day Side Pot, when he earned $620.00.  Today, Curtis's 3rd Place finish brings him home a nice $484.00.
