It may have taken 2+ months and 2 postponements to finish the 2020 Year-End Championship, but we hope everyone feels it was worth it!  A great turnout (202)... 40 Members making the 'Cash List'... an ENORMOUS $16,762.00 Total Payout... an AWESOME tight competition which included a tie for the Top Qualifier spot, along with a 2 pin margin of victory in the Championship Match... and the bonus of 15 bowling balls awarded!!  Over the last few years the Scratch Pot has become more and more popular.  It certainly was this week, especially to the bowlers who shared in the RECORD $830.00 Pot.  Zac Clute & Earl Kleist will each get a 'Top Qualifier' Jacket after tying with solid 984 series. 

Barb Rosengen and husband Paul had planned to bowl Sunday, but when Paul wasn't feeling well in the morning, Barb nearly stayed home.  That turned out to be a very profitable decision that she came.  Barb started the day shooting very well, despite having very few games in since bowling re-opened, turning in the 5th highest qualifying series (973) of the Tourney.  She had a handicap advantage over all of her fellow 'Sweet 16' Finalists, but didn't need the hdcp in her opening two matches, beating her opponents scratch!  Tossing scores (w/hdcp) of 291, 297 & 248 put Barb in the Championship Match, where she admitted to being extra nervous.  That match vs Willie Downing, came down to the very last ball, leaving Barb with a narrow 2 pin margin of Victory and a $2,282.00 payday.  Barb used her pink Strike King drilled by Dave Hansen for her 2nd Career Title and the Red 2-Time Championship Jersey (her favorite color Red) She plans to use some of her winnings on a Vegas trip planned for this summer.  Barb is a retired Corrections Officer, who in addition to enjoying her bowling, also enjoys going to Pageants with one of her 15 Grandkids.

   

In 2nd Place, Tour veteran Willie Downing was chasing his 7th Career Title.  His hefty $1,040.00 share pushes his career earnings past $23,000.00.  Willie had a chance to pull out the Win in the 10th,but it was not to be this time.  In 3rd, John Moore Jr & Scott Hammersmith each took home a HUGE check for a 3rd/4th tie, $503.00 each.  Scott is fairly new to the Tour, with only 6 entries and a best previous finish of 34th... nice giant leap up the ladder.  John is an old timer having joined the Tour in 2002 (#154), though away for many years.  John's Tour history includes being the Tournament Champ in 2019 at our final Pacific Lanes Tournament, just before it closed.

     

Special CONGRATULATIONS to Dan Grass, who tossed his first Perfect 300 GAME at Secoma Lanes last Tuesday.  The interesting twist... Dan had just picked up his new STORM IDOL PEARL from the Somoff Pro Shop.  His 300 came in the first game thrown with his new ball...
