After a local week off to put on our 4th annual Three-Region Tourney down in Las Vegas, we returned, making our way north to Kenmore Lanes this Super Bowl weekend.  One thing was evident, many of the bowlers who went to Vegas aren't back yet as they're either staying down there for the big game or are bowling in the TAT.  Last word, was that the 3RT winner, Dan Grass along with 3rd Place James Strand, who finished 3rd last week, were riding their recent hot bowling and had made it to the finals, so we wish them luck today!

Meanwhile, we weren't expecting a huge turnout this week, but did manage to draw 94 entries, 19 bowlers making the cash list with the cut line at 937. 

Huyen Thai had the front four taps, earning $150.00 from the Jackpot as the total climbed to $8,385.00 for our next tournament at Narrows in two weeks. 

Eight of our 19 cashers broke 1000, including Kannha Tong (1002), Greg Burdsall (1009), Mitch Johns (also 1009) and Zac Clute (1011).  Newcomer, Troy Kokes was on fire as he reentered into the final squad and needed one more big game to complete the rare feat of someone winning in their first try.  Although he ran into some trouble late, coming up short, his 1025 was good for 4th Place!  Nice shooting, Troy!  

As Brian Peters & Joe Fincher, Jr. were both in line for the win, Brian threw a 300 game, while Joe couldn't miss and was really locked in.  In fact, Joe was pretty disappointed, as he knew that he just needed to double in the 10th frame to get it done.  Fincher settled for 3rd Place and $466.00, while Peters was 2nd for $917.00. 

The guy who had the target on his back going into that last game was Trai Ly (Pronounced TRY LEE), Trai put together his career best 1052 series to earn his first tour title!  He joins his brother in law, Huyen as a Tour winner and was bowling with the other Thai brother, Thang Thai along with Ruong Sa Tang who was celebrating his birthday was us on Saturday!  Trai's sister and Huyen's wife, Huong must have been the good luck charm as she was on hand to watch them bowl.  The Boeing worker said he was "Very Excited, a little nervous, but had lots of fun!" Trai joined the tour back in 2015, bowled a few tourneys, did pretty well then and then didn't bowl again until this last year.  In fact, this was his 9th entry since coming back, but it was the first time he's cashed in those nine tries!  $2,069.00 was his take and he said it's for his family.  Great bowling, Trai!  Congratulations!
