More history on this date as it relates to the tour:  In 2002 Arden Ashbaugh won at Magic Lanes...'03, 24 year old Rhodie Laed won her first of two titles at Lincoln Bowl...'08, Paul Marcello won his first of five titles at Cascade Lanes...'13, Then 76 year old Gilbert Johnson won at Secoma Lanes. Ironically, we saw Gilbert (now 82) and his 93 year old friend, Wes Hall, Jr. at Skyway on Saturday.  Wes won at 87 years old, still a tour record!  

Your history lesson continues as we rewind to 1967, as the Vietnam War was on everyone's mind, while in January the Apollo 1 tragedy unfolded at Cape Canaveral (then Cape Kennedy). Current celebrities of note born that year: Anderson Cooper, Julia Roberts, Kurt Cobain, Steve Freeman and others.  Why 1967, you ask???  $1,967.00 is how much this week's champion Armand 'Ajay' Jarata won this week at Skyway Park Bowl as Ajay won his 5th Career title and pushed his career earnings up to $21,000.00, joining the $20k Club!  Ajaya shot the only score over 800 with 826 at 'His House', Skyway, where he has won twice now and also where he seems to always be in contention.  More on Ajay, below... 

Vu Nguyen, who was looking for his first win, finished in 2nd Place, his best finish since another 2nd about 2 1/2 years ago.  Vu shot 797 and will cash an $887.00 check!  Huyen Thai finished in 3rd for $457.00 as he shot a 300 game on Saturday and is excited as we head to the Year End Championship next week. 

Back to Ajay who also cleaned up on the scratch pot, earning another $280.00 as he also had a 300 game on his way to the win!  When asked what he'd do with his winnings, Ajay said "It's Christmas time, more money for presents!" Ajay said he is a car collector and loves going to car shows.  He added a BIG thank you to his parents, Roland & Emma Jarata, stating "I want to thank the Skyway staff for accomodating my practices and especially my Dad for coaching me."  Congratulations, Ajay, you'll be receiving the classic 'retro' bowling shirt with 5 Stars on the back for each one of your wins! 

Don't forget that the Year End Championship is next Saturday, beginning PROMPTLY at 11:00am!  Check in for this begins at around 9:30 and we ask that everyone comes in early to help make the 'process' a smooth one!  There will be over 90 bowlers checking in for one large squad, so please don't wait until the last minute....Thanks!
