May 25th/26th, 2019

Total Paid Out: $12,056.00

Wrap Up

Thanks to Mike Martin and his crew, BrianFrank & Madelin (and the rest) for another great Secoma Lanes Event! The Tour wrapped up the 2nd quarter with a HUGE turnout of 168 entries and 34 bowlers making Sunday's finals. We wound up paying out over$12,000.00 in cash and prizes and our finals matches were incredible! We'll get into that more below, but 12 of the 15 final matches came down to the end!

Saturday, Herbie Wilson shot 1084 which was the weekend's top score and even though he didn't fare as well in the finals (finishing 17th), Herbie wound up winning both the Storm ball of his choice as well as the Top Qualifier jacket. Thanks to Mai Lee Coddington's donation, we had a Storm 'IQ Tour' ball to give away on Sunday as we had a mystery score which Jon Hunt hit it on the nose to win!

Joel BrownJoyce Roberts & Dean Hale all had the front four 9 taps earning $150.00 each as the Jackpot escaped another week as we head to Kenmore Lanes next week with $8,273.00 in the pot!

Sweet 16

Back (l-r): Hale, Davis, Lee, Black, Moore, Jr., Bristol, Kim, Dunson, Bemis, Koprek

Front: Ibale, Aninion ,Hwang, Strand, Kuver, Nguyen

With the 34 Finalists, SIX bowlers earned first round bye's into Round 2 while in the 1st Round 28 bowled for survival as we whittled that 28 down to 19, added in the six bye's for Round 2 then took out nine more to get to our Sweet 16 Finalists.  In the Sweet 16 matches of note, James Black was just four pins from advancing asSun Hwang edged him out while next door the David Kim -vs-Leon Bemis match was close as well with David winning 235-216.Samson Ibale needed a big game to beat Larry Dunson's 266 game as Samson shot 290 in a BIG score match! Another match was nearly perfect from bother bowlers as Dean Hale shot 300 to John Moore, Jr's 272. Daniel Lee & Tong Nguyen also had a tight match with Daniel edging Tong 244-225.

Elite Eight

As we moved to the Elite 8 games, Daniel continued his close games by defeating Tara Strand 226-218 in a match that came down to the last shot. Magic Bristol's 217-211 win over Dean Halewas down to the last shot as was Vyron Kuver's 244-241 defeat of Ibale.

Final Four

The semi-finals featured two games where the eventual winner needed to convert big splits to knock off their opponents with Magic & Vyron moving to the Championship.  In that final match, it was nip & tuck, shot for shot as Vyron beat Magic by just 11 pins for the win!

Vyron & Magic Meet For The Championship

Kuver's win is his 2nd and both were at Secoma as he won thereabout 3 1/2 years ago. Vyron threw his Storm 'Timeless' ball which was drilled up by Robert Kelley at Secoma and he was wearing hisDexter SST shoes as well. The former Boeing worker (38 years there) is happily retired, he enjoys woodworking and spends a lot of time in Seattle where his a Seating Host (Usher) for the Mariners. Vyron said a big "Thank You" to his buddy, Leon Bemis for rooting him on and added that he'll put his $2,233.00 winner's share in the bank. Congratulations, Vyron!
