Narrows Plaza Bowl was the host Saturday and coming off of a down scoring week, bowlers rebounded nicely with some big scores!  We finished up with 112 entries, 22 cashers, 15 bowlers were over 1000 and there was a shootout at the end which resulted in a tie at the top! 

Narrows is always a hotspot for 9 taps and this week was no exception as  for the third straight week, Huyen Thai had a seventh shot at the 'Middle 7'! Unfortunately, for the second straight week, he missed on that seventh shot.  The news wasn't all bad for Huyen because about two hours later, he hit the 'Front 5' to join Andy Snow in earning the consolation for $375.00 each.  Martin McElroy also posted this game, narrowly missing the BIG Jackpot:

Tour record holder for the highest score ever (1216) back in 2008 and long time tour member, Jeff Scott was away from us for several years. Recently returning after the seven year layoff, Jeff made quite the splash this week by firing a 1054 to tie Zac Clute for 4th Place!  7-time Champ, Bob Rouse led after two squads after shooting an impressive 1061 series and was looking for Title #8, last winning just over two years ago.  Bob settled for 3rd Place and $453.00.  Nice shooting, Bob! 

The Tournament came down to two bowlers, strangers who hadn't previously met, one bowling (starting) on lane 28, the other on 36, both completely unaware of the other's scores. Never having won on tour before, DonTe' Jones finished about ten minutes ahead of 2-time Champ, Jeremy Truitt and had already shown his score to us, knowing that he'd taken the top spot away from Rouse...We weren't aware that anyone else was bowling so well and all but assumed that DonTe' had the title to himself...That's when we received word that Jeremy had just finished and tied DonTe' for the win!  That's right, these two both fired off 1073's to pull off a very rare tie for 1st Place, DonTe's first win and Jeremy's Third!  Let's start with DonTe' who used his Storm 'Son!Q' ball drilled up by Scott Halvarson at Triple P's Pro Shop at Paradise Lanes. As we were wrapping up, Mr. Jones had some great news he wanted to share as not only was his "significant other" Kwanna on hand to cheer him on, the two recently found out they are expecting a child due in May of next year! Great news & congratulations from us all!  DonTe' added "After the second game (240), I had seven 8 spare's and shot 190 so changed to my old faithful Purple Hammer ball and threw the front eight strikes in last game (for 254)!".  Jones said he'd save his $1,425.00 for his new child...Jeremy, a new Dad himself earned his third win which comes over seven years since last winning in 2012.  He said that he used his Roto Grip 'Hyper Cell Fused' ball drilled up by Pat Johns at HiLine Lanes and added "I had a strategy, coming in and was able to dial it in and stay ahead of the lane changes."  As for plans for his share of the winnings, Jeremy said "I'm not sure yet, but I'm sure I'll think of something!"  Huge Congratulations to DonTe' & Jeremy on the RARE shared title! 

The Tour now heads up to Angel Of The Winds Casino next Saturday and we hope to see all of you there!
