With the largest Progressive Pot in more than six years on the line, the tour headed to 50-lane Kenmore Lanes on Saturday where, for the first time, we were on the high end of the house.  We mention this because, for some reason, the scores followed suit with a 940 cut line and TEN bowlers over 1000!  

Collins Davis (995) & Donnie Roberts (997) were just under the 1000 mark, while Joe Williams (1001), Kris Tong (1010), Brett Schaaf (1014), Phil Taylor (1036), Zac Clute (1039) & Sam Em (1056) were all within 1-3 marks from possibly winning!  Not to be outdone, Mitch Johns put up his Personal Best (PB) 1058 series by 44 pins and was very close to his 2nd Win, finishing 4th for $245.00.  Just in front of Mitch was Carla Rivera who bettered her PB by SIXTY pins with a 1067 for 3rd Place and $623.00.

' The Story of Andy, Andrew & Andrei '

Part I:  Andy Snow - Already one of THE prolific 9-Tap Jackpot earners in tour history, Andy seems to always be flirting with the Jackpot.  This week was no different for the FIVE-TIME Champion as Andy hit the ‘front 5’ taps to earn another $375.00.

Part II:  Andrew Scalf – It was just seven weeks ago when Andrew won his first title at HiLine Lanes where he posted a PB 929 scratch and earned $2,405.00.  In fact, Andrew has now cashed in ALL of his last five entries. This week Andrew improved on his PB by shooting 950 (1070 w/hdcp) and was seemingly on his way to winning title #2 when we arrived at Part III of our saga…

Part III:  Andrei Weber – With just over two years with the tour under his belt, Andrei was pumped for this week, which turned out to be a ‘home game’ for him and his buddy, Collin Young as they both bowl league at Kenmore. As we entered the final squad, Andrei was already solidly in the Top 10 for the day as he had shot 998 in the first squad.  Apparently, that wasn’t good enough because he put together four solid games, edging out Andrew by just seven pins after punching out from the 7th frame of his final game for his first title.  

Andrei used his Storm ‘Sure Lock’ ball drilled up by Jeff Knapp and said he’d put his MONSTER $2,744.00 check towards a new car.  “What other bowling tournament can you win $2,744.00?” Andrei thanked his personal scorekeeper and girlfriend, Kristen for keeping him updated on what he needed to do to win and added a special thanks to his buddy’s, Colin & Zac.  Andrei summed up his day by saying that he was “Nervous, excited, stressed, happy & overwhelmed.”  Well Done, Andrei!!!
