Bowlero Lanes
Oct. 5th, 2019
Total Paid Out: $8,900.00
Bowlero Lanes in Lakewood has again delivered on an exciting and action packed Saturday for the Tour! It had been nearly four months since our last visit when Kannha Tong broke the Tour record for a 'Best 3 of 4' performance by shooting a staggering 906. Well...while we did put on another 'Best 3 of 4' format tourney this week, scores were more in the 'target zone' as our winner was at 811 while the Cut-Line was 713 with 29 bowlers on the cash list. While we did pay Chuck Hufford his $750.00 from last week for hitting the 'Front 6', Martin McElroy & Tong Nguyen both did some damage of their own to the Jackpot as they managed to hit the 'Front 5' to earn $375.00 apiece!
Chuck Martin Tong If you look at this week's cash list, one thing that stands out is that only 98 pins separated 1st Place from 28th, which meant that we had a whole bunch of folks who had a chance at the title. Zac Clute led for quite awhile with his early on 786 performance, but Zac would wind up settling for 3rd Place and $525.00 which is his best finish since joining the tour about a year and a half ago. Great shooting, Zac! Huyen Thai was 2nd this week as the 8-Time Tour Champ put in his best performance since winning in January of last year! Huyen earned $939.00 which put him over $33k in career earnings! What a great story we have for you regarding this week's |

winner...Justin Miller, son of 5-Time Champ Christina Miller! Justin celebrated his 22nd birthday Saturday by putting on his career best performance and was the only bowler to break 800 with the 811 series. When the Miller's checked in, Justin made the decision NOT to enter the Progressive Pot. This isn't necessarily an odd thing, but since joining the tour in 2015, Justin NEVER got into the Pro Pot, then all of a sudden last October he began putting money in every time he bowled, this continued for his last ten tournament entries, that is, until this week when he opted out...Justin still earned $1,000.00 for his 1st title, but with that, he earned lots of friends because the pro pot is now at $3,206.00 for next week at Bowlero-Lynnwood! Nick at Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard drilled Justin's ball and he says he really wasn't expecting to win, needed the money and will put it in the bank for now! Besides stating "Happy Birthday to me!" Justin and his Mom, Christina wanted to thank everyone who supported him. Christina added that Justin has grown up with Asperger's Syndrome and is a Dance, Dance Revolution EXPERT and while they both have their own hobbies, "We appreciate the 9-Tap Tour because bowling is the one thing that we can do together and compete on the same level." The 5-Time Champ, Christina might have been more excited than Justin after his big win! Congratulations to you both and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Justin!
