Wrap Up

HiLine Lanes was the site for the Tour this week as Pat Johnsand his staff showed off their new scoring system & displays.  Things went very well all things considered as we had 105 entries with (after the promised small pattern adjustment) scores back in the 'target range' with the Cut-Line moving from just 889 on our last visit to more of what we like to see at  922.  21 bowlers cashed, including a 3-way tie in the last Cash postion between Heather Schaaf, Mitch Buchholz & Huyen Thai

9-Taps seemed hard to come by this week but Pam Buchholz & Ed Berg (TWICE) did manage the front 3.  $25 for Pam and $50 for Ed.

Unprecedentedly, the Top 8 all came from reentries as it appeared the shot adjustment took some getting used to with SIX bowlers cracking the 1000 mark.  David Kim continued his hot streak, shooting 981 for 7th Place, again heading home with the lead after two Squads with his buddy, Cal Fisher right on his heels in 8th.

New Dad, Jeremy Truitt (1021) & Dan Grass (1005) finished 5th & 6th, respectfully while a RED HOT Carl Nichols (4th) shot a scratch 295 game with just one 9-tap (TEN REAL STRIKES) and actually took the lead late in the final squad with his 1042.  Carl was elated with his performance and poised for another title, but three bowlers were also on fire gunning for the win...

First there was Ed Berg who posted his personal best 1049 for 3rd Place and his third Top 4 finish this Summer which also included a personal best 277 game which earned him an extra $80 from the scratch pot, going nicely with his $403.00 3rd Place check!

Ashley Kochel continues to improve her average as she's climbed 12 pins over the last three months and as you'll recall she earned back to back Titles at Kenmore & Pacfic Lanes back in June. Saturday, after an earlier entry, Ashley got lined up for the final squad, shooting her personal best 1058 series wrapping up the day with another PB 272 scratch game earning herself a hefty $811.002nd Place check!

Ritch 'Mack' Coldiron joined the tour back in March, pretty much as a beginner and he's struggled as most beginner's tend to do.  Saturday was a little bit different, although Mack struggled earlier in the day, he found something along the way and caught fire in the 3rd squad, shooting 1096 absolutely CRUSHING his previous high series by 150 pins!  Mack wasn't expecting to shoot so well, in fact he put ZERO in theProgressive Pot making way for a MONSTER Pot ($2,209.00) set for next week at Daffodil Bowl where we'll be for our 3rd Quarter Championship.  Mr. Coldiron wore his Dexter Shoes while throwing his Storm 'SON!Q' ball drilled up by Nick out at Hi Joy Bowl.  Mack said he focused on "Just having fun, I stayed focused and enjoyed the game." adding that he "Enjoys all of the 9-Tap Tour people with everyone standing behind each other." He also said that his three boys, Tanner, Riley & Jonathan were rooting him on and that he'd save his $1,000.00 winner's check for the Vegas Tourney in January.  Congrats Mack!

Finally, we wanted to announce the exciting news that we'll be having a Team event coming up in the next couple of months.  There is more information to come as we tidy up the details, but we wanted to share this early so folks can start thinking about their team!  It will be at Narrows Plaza Bowl & will be for 3-Person teams with three squads.  Stay Tuned for details!
