Daffodil Bowl
April 14th, 2018

Total Paid Out: $9,478.00

Wrap Up

As today's newsletter was prepared, the Weatherman on TV said thatSaturday was the 4th wettest April day EVER in the Seattle area and that we received more rain for an April day than we have in over 22 years!  Perhaps the idea of staying inside on rainy Spring day played a part in yet another big turnout as we welcomed 152 entries keeping 2018's run of super turnouts going!

After the last couple of weeks of high scoring due to mechanical issues, we returned to some assemblance of normality as scores were more on target with the Cut-Line at 916.  In all, 30 bowlers with handicaps ranging from -6 to +60 made the Cash List and with Daffodil Bowl being historically a HOT-site for 9-Taps, there were numerous people stringing them throughout the day! Donna Columbo had two such strings of 6 out of 7 taps in back to back games while others like Chris Andreula & David Buckner had respective 7th shots for the 'Middle 7' within just a minute or two of each other!  Thanh Ament & Reuben Pedro each pocketed $100 for hitting the Front 4 taps. The 9-Tap Jackpot again went over the $8k mark making next week's Jackpot total $8,223.00 meaning 50% increases in payouts! Also for next week, the Progressive Pot had a nice increase to$2,281.00 as the Tour returns to one of our popular sites at Pacific Lanes

We were excited to announce the addition of our newest sponsor'Cornforth Campbell CARSTAR' the "Auto Body Repair Experts" and referred to us by Donna Columbo whose husband Mike works there. They will sponsor our 3rd Quarter Championship at Daffodil Bowl in Sept.

Thanks to Donna along with Kurt (and Mike) from CARSTAR!

Kare Tong flirted with his 1st Tour Title on Saturday shooting 1034, finishing in 3rd Place and with just $10 invested in the Pro pot, Kare earned$376.00.  Well done, Kare!

Ordinarily, Kai Pedro's 1038 might be enough to earn a title and this would have been his 2nd, but it was not to be this week as he came up a mark or two short.  Not only did Kai earn $940.00, he grabbed another $240.00 from the scratch pot as he notched his THIRD 2nd Place in 12 months

Pete Wood joined the Tour in 2013 and has had his share of greatperformances over the past five years, including numerous Top 10's and even 2nd & 3rd Place finishes mixed in.  This week, Pete got himself lined up in the 12:00 squad, then reentered at 2:30 to shoot 1062 for his 1st Title as he became the 8th Tour Member to earn their first title in 2018! For comparison, at this point in 2017, we had just FOUR 1st-Time Champs.

Pete credits the "9-Tap Tour Family" and especially Bob Matlock and theThai Brothers (Thang & Huyen) for their "moral support" and he picked a nice time to earn his title as 1st Place paid $2,063.00 this week!  He says he'll "split" the money with his wife, Cecile and further stated a big "THANK YOU" to everyone for congratulating him on the big win!  Pete wore his Dexter 'SST' shoes and said that Dan at Kent Bowl drilled both of the balls that he used on Saturday and finally he left us for the evening by saying that he's "Glad to finally win a tournament!"  Congrats Pete!
