Secoma Lanes - Federal Way, WA
December 12th, 2015
Total Paid Out: $9,606.00
2015’s regular season ended on a very High Note…a ‘Wild West’ style SHOOTOUT for the Title, a GREAT turnout, BIG payouts, AWESOME competition & IDEAL scores! Everyone seemed to have fun with the Instant $10 for the Front-2 Taps, resulting in an extra $350.00 paid from the 9-Tap Jackpot. Of the 35 payouts, SIX bowlers took advantage of the Special, by collecting the ‘Instant $10’ multiple times, led by Earl Kleist hitting it 3 times. The Jackpot also got tapped for another $250.00 by Will Cotton, for his 5-Taps. The $600.00 paid out from the Jackpot Saturdaypushed the 2015 total to an impressive $19,059.00. The ‘Cut-Line’ was perfect at 924, but the 3 ‘gunslingers’ involved in the ‘shootout’ really raised the scores at the Top of the Cash List. The Top 3 ‘gunslingers’ all shot highlight reel caliber scores, separating themselves from the rest of the pack by a healthy 35 pins, but only separated from each other by a frustratingly narrow 3 pins. Earl ‘The Kid’ Kleist posted what looked like a potential Winning score of 1076 (his best since 2013), in the 12:00 squad. Then in the 2:30 squad, Jerry ‘Sundance’ Hendrickson upped that total by just 2 pins with his big 1078. In the last squad, along comes at hot Cal ‘Quickdraw’ Fisher shooting his biggest series since early 2013. Unfortunately, Cal’s Great 1075 fell 3 pins short of 1st & just 1 pin short of 2nd Place. ‘Sundance’… Jerry Hendrickson emerged from the battle to capture his 5th Career Title, earning him the coveted 5-StarChampion’s Retro Jersey. This is Jerry’s second Win of 2015, worth a hefty $2,087.00. That nice payday moves his 4 year Career Earnings total to an impressive $14,824.00. Jerry said the cash was timely, for a business investment with his son, who’s moving here from Montana. Asked if he had family cheering him on Saturday, he said that, “The other Tour bowlers are ‘his family’, away from home”. His Secret Weapon was a brand new Roto-Grip ‘Haywire’, that Robert Kelly at Secoma’s Somoff Pro shop drilled for him last week. CONGRATS Jerry on the FIVE Gold Stars!! ‘The Kid’… Earl Kleist was soooo close to his second Title of the year. The $935.00 2nd Place check boosted Tour Hall of Famer’s Prize Money total to $46,068.00 (3rd on the All-Time list). If we had all the stats for side-pot earnings, Earl could be #1, thanks only partly to the big Jackpot ($7,730.00) he hit in 2013. ‘Quickdraw’… Cal Fisher added to his very long list of Top 5 finishes. Earning a nice $498.00 for 3rd Place, Cal’s earnings have now climbed to $15,610.00. Just 3 bullets or one nice break short of the Title, Cal’s winnings still seems like an inadequate reward, for such a great series and his nearly perfect final two games. |
