HiLine Bowl - Burien, WA
April 18, 2015

Total Paid Out: $8,188.00

Wrap Up

A THREE-Way Tie at 950 on an already higher than normal Cut-Line produced an extra spot on Saturday's Cash List as the Tour revisitedHiLine Lanes in Burien.  A large turnout for the 2:30 Squad helped to produce some nice numbers for the day with 115 Entries, 24 Bowlers on the Cash List and $8,188.00 total paid out!  Four total scores above the 1000 mark is not necessarily out of the norm, but TWENTY scores in the high 900's between 950 & 993 is unusual and helped to push the Cut-Line to well above normal.

Willie Downing has been HOT lately and Saturday was no exception as he rolled himself into a tie for the 5th Place spot AND was the 9-Tap Jackpot consolation winner as he hit the front 5 taps and earned himself an additional $250.00!  The Jackpot is now just a Baker's Dozen short of the $8,000.00 mark where consolation prizes will increase by a HUGE 50%!!!

Shout Out to Hawaii Region's David & Frances Kaea, who broughttheir management team to HiLine for some training this week...In addition to the training, David managed to sneak his way onto the Cash List and 20th Place along with another $200.00 from the Scratch Pot.  Also on hand from Hawaii was Ricky Laguana who barely missed the Cash List and Scratch Pot.

CHECK SQUAD TIMES!  As many of you know, our Four Squad Schedule begins next Saturday (4/25) at Bowlero Lanes in Lakewood.  This means Squads at 12:00 & 2:00 ~ RE-OIL ~ then Squads at 4:30 &6:30.  The added 6:30 Squad has always been very popular, especially for some of our bowlers who work on Saturday

Shooting a 1007 and finishing in 3rd Place this week is Yakima's Chuck Gonsalez.  Chuck has been a regular on the Tour for three years now and is almost always accomanied by his biggest fan and Son, Josh.  Finishing just one pin ahead of Chuck in 2nd Place is John Sisavath with a 1008.  John has come close to his first title so many times!  This is his THIRD 2nd Place along with a couple of 3rd Place finishes.  Nice $1,001.00 pay day, John!

Alfredo Oriza broke out of a HUGE slump on Saturday as evidenced byhis 5 Bonus pins and claimed his long awaited 5th Tour Title!  Shooting a 'JEWEL', of a series, a1057, Alfredo earns the 'Retro' jersey accompanied by the Gold lettering & 5 Gold Stars.  Alfredo's last Title came at the 2012 'Year-End' Championship when he earned the coveted Yellow Pennant.  Interestingly, due to a slight snag in lane assignments, Alfredo was reassigned to a different pair of lanes at the very last second and his willingness and cooperation with the change paid off...BIG TIME!!! as he went on to take the Title!

The $2,252.00 pay day boosted Oriza's Career earnings to $17,892.00(not counting the $2,074.00 earned when he hit the 9-Tap Jackpot in 2010).  Alfredo primarily used his Storm 'IQ'  ball drilled by HiLine's Pat Johns and said "It's been a long time and I did a great job today."  Alfredo also went out of his way to say how much he appreciates bowling on the Tour and specifically thanked the 9-Tap Tour Staff & Management for their "professionalism and friendship over the years."

With his winning check, Alfredo plans to pay some bills and then hand it over to his wife, MarieLyn who is "already waiting for it."  Finally, Alfredo wanted to thank his little brother, Matias Oriza for cheering him on.  Way to go, Alfredo!
