Bowlero Lanes - Lakewood, WA
October 17th, 2015
Total Paid Out: $7,449.00
What a day! Where do we start??? Let's start with the staff at Bowlero...Everywhere The Tour goes, we are humbled by the professionalism and hustle of the front desk personnel, managers, mechanics and restaurant staff. Bowlero Lanes is certainly no exception so we can't say it enough & want to thank all of those hard workers on behalf of The Tour, including our bowlers! Now, let's talk about another great Tournament...One thing is for sure, Tour bowlers really seem to be getting 'zeroed in' on the lane conditions as scores continue to be creeping higher week in and week out. This week, there were SIX more bowlers topping the 1000 mark with at least one of them in every squad for the 2nd straight week! Additionally, we had a tie in the final 'Cash List' spot which caused a an extra casher to be added in what has become a recent trend. Assaults on the 9-Tap Jackpot were also a common occurence this week as we had several who hit the 'front 3', then a few of those were able to hit the 'front 4', then two (Judy Snow & Mick Hodge) moved on to hit the 'front 5' where their streaks ended. Both Judy & Mick did pick up an extra $250.00 each for there feats and even with the $500.00 total paid out for the Jackpot, the nice turnout on Saturday caused the Jackpot total to drop only $35.00 and is at $6,573.00 for next week. How about Tour career earnings leader, Samson Ibale? All he did was post a whopping 1062 series, then reentered and broke 1000 again! While his big series wasn't enough for the Title this time, he did place 3rd, earning another $469.00 to add to his amazing career earnings total which is now at $52,666.00 and doesn't even include all of the side pot cash he's earned! Very impressive, Samson! In 2nd Place this week was Jeff Armour, who posted a Personal Best 1064series to take home a $699.00 check! Jeff joined the Tour in 2013 and his big series this week would have been, in many cases, enough to win as he was going for his 2nd Title after having won at Narrows back in August of 2013. Armour's accomplished his 1064 by tossing four evenly and very consistent games! Nice shootin', Jeff! What a great week it turned out to be for Aron Golden who joined the Tourrecently at Paradise Bowl. Aron was on hand earlySaturday for the 12:00 squad and shot pretty well, but thought he could do better, so he reentered for the 2:00squad. Aron didn't put anything into the Progressive Pot for his first entry, but when he checked in prior to2:00, he decided to throw $10.00 into the pot. As it turned out, this was a GREAT decision as Mr. Golden found himself in the midst of that ever famous 'ZONE' firing a blazing 1086 to take over the top spot after two squads. When we asked Aron if he was sticking around during the final two squads, he was somewhat excited, nervous and indecisive, but eventually opted against staying & went home to pick up his wife. when he returned with her, he found that he had survived the 3rd squad, but it was fairly early in the Final squad which put him in 'Stress Mode', pacing back and forth, worried about others who might be making a run at him. In the end, his score held up and the relief was very obvious when he was told that he had won. Even though he had just $10.00 in the Pro pot, he still earned a nice $1,497.00 check and at last check, his plan was to take his lovely wife, Stacey to the Seahawks game on Sunday. No word as to whether or not the Seahawks game actually materialized but Stacey and Daughter, Olivia will likely both benefit from the winnings! Golden used his Storm 'Sky Rocket' ball that he had drilled at Joint Base Lewis-McHord where he is a 19-year Army Veteran. Aron enjoys time with his family, riding his motorcycle and says he looks forward to next month's Veteran's Day Tournament at Paradise Bowl. Congratulations, Aron! |
