Secoma Lanes - Federal Way, WA
November 15th, 2014

Total Paid Out: $6,107.00

Wrap Up
It would be tough to write a better script to describe the turn of events inSaturday's exciting visit to Secoma Lanes.  With 111 entries in three fairly balanced squads, 22 Bowlers made the 'Diverse' Cash List as there was a wide ranging & nicely balanced list of handicaps (between 2 & 49).  Interesting fact:  The Cut-Line was 938 when it had been exactlythe same (932) in our previous three consecutive trips to Secoma.

Not one but TWO Tour Newcomers had shots at hitting the 'Middle 7' 9-Taps for the $500.00 prize.  Earlier in the day it was Peter Davis, who on his 7th attempt wound up throwing a perfect and REAL strike and was surprised to hear the crowd groan because he wasn't aware that it was a $500.00 shot.  Hard to know what the result might have been if he had known.  About an hour or so later, it was slightly different for Dwaun Walthour as he was aware that he was about to shoot for the $500.00 but said "If it happens it happens".  Unfortunately for Dwaun, his shot misfired a little left of the headpin.  A $100.00 9-Tap consolation was split between Dave Stauffer & Tong Nguyen who both hit the front 4-taps.  This creates the potential for "THE PERFECT $TORM"...

...As the Tour heads to Imperial Lanes next week, it's probably a good idea to mark your calendar and make sure you're there for the following reasons:

A - The 9-Tap Jackpot is now at $6,096.00 which triggers "ALL CONSOLATION TIES PAID IN FULL" which simply means that if two or three bowlers were to tie for a consolation of say $500.00, we pay them all the full value.

B - The Progressive Pot is now at $2,375.00 which could make the winner's share over $2,000.00 for the first time in several weeks.

C - The ever so popular Best '3 out of 4' Format means that you get to throw your lowest game.

This week's 2nd & 3rd place finishers both had $0 in the Progressive Pot which limited their winnings and is why the large pot carries over to next week.  Sandy Forester finished the week in 3rd Place for $271.00.  Sandy, who recently returned to the Tour after a six year absence, posted his career best result and after starting slowly in his first game, caught fire, shooting a 1028, highlighted by a 278 scratch game.  Nice shooting, Sandy!  As the day progressed late and into the final game, it really looked like the sun was shining brightly upon Chuck Hufford as he was in a good spot to make his way to a 3rd Career Title.  As it turned out, a Super 1059 wasn't quite enough to get it done for Chuck as he he placed 2nd for the 2nd time since July and earned $500.00.. Great to see you bowl so well, Chuck!

The story of the day developed as Donna Columbo, known to some of us as "D.C." showed up having a small cyst between her thumb and index finger.  She said it was giving her some discomfort but she wanted to
bowl because Secoma is her house.  Initially shooting an 809 while suffering through some pain due to both the cyst and now a painful blister, she applied some 'New Skin' to the blister, reentered, then got herself lined up and fired a more 'Donna-like' 987.  Knowing that she was already in a 'Cash List' position and feeling that she was "in the zone", Donna again decided to reenter.  She applied more 'New Skin', added some bowler's tape to the ailing thumb and was on a mission.  All Donna did was SHATTER her personal best by 91 PINS!!!  On the way to her 1st Career Title, Donna set several Personal Records, including finishing like a Champion with her first scratch 300 game on the Tour.  Her series was a HUGE 1041, cracking the 1000 (scratch) mark for the first time ever and also earned her $220.00 for winning the  Scratch Pot's High Game & High Series.

Donna used her Hammer 'Taboo' ball which was drilled by Secoma's Robert Kelly and says that she plans on putting her $1,865.00 winner's check straight into her savings account for a future vacation "probably to Hawaii".  Donna wanted to specifically thank Pearl SedenoBrian Kuykendall & Will Cotton for their support as well as "everyone that cheered me on".  Popular & Well deserved win, Donna!
