With the Washington Huskies in action and the State Fair in Puyallup going on, it's fair to say that 'annually' this particular week has become the Tour's slowest week in terms of #'s of Entries.  With 75 Entries and 15 bowlers making the Cash List, competition was strong and scores were high, particularly from the 2nd Squad. Saturday had three Perfect 300 games tossed (Jerry Hendrickson,Jon Schneider & Patrick Dennis) and two were nearly perfect (Donna Columbo & Kai Pedro).  Donna remains on a HOT streak as she shot an impressive 1018 and has now finished in 3rd Place two out of the last three weeks.  Only a mediocre 2nd game prevented her from a run at her first title, but she does take home $435.00.  Mark Hitchcock also continued a HOT streak of his own as he fired this week's 2nd Best and his personal best by 24 pins, a huge 1060!  For Mark, this makes back to back 2nd Place finishes after starting the year with three 3rds in four Tournaments.  Hitchcock earned $750.00 for his hard work, Nice shootin' Donna & Mark!!!  

 

Very much worth mentioning this week is a game that Gary Van Nessshot...Suffice to say, Gary wishes that if only for a week this was the '8-Tap' Tour as he had a very unlikely SEVEN straight 8-counts in a game and took some friendly ribbing for his troubles.  Check it out!

 

The 9-Tap Jackpot continues to be on the rise as it was again not really threatened as this week's high for taps, with 4, was Pete Wood who takes the consolation of $100.00.   The Jackpot now sits at $4,279.00 for our next Tournament in two weeks at Bowlero Lanes.  The Progressive Pot will be at $1,900.00 for that Tournament which, by the way, will be the ever so popular Best '3 out 4' formats.  (See details below)

 

This week's winner and Champ, Jon Schneider continues a HOT streak of his own.  By way of shooting what he "thought" was his career best 1077, Jon shot four very solid games all 230 or better scratch, including the above mentioned 300.  We did some quick research and Jon's actual personal best was 1084 but, unfortunately for Jon, he didn't win that Tournament, finishing 2nd.  Also, it was somewhat interesting that Jon's 1077 this week was one number shy of his Tour Member number, which is 1078.  Schneider credits much of his recent success and thanks HiLine Bowl's, Pat Johns for recently putting interchangeable thumb slots in all of his bowling bowls.  He says this helps a lot and gives him a more consistent feel when he changes balls.  Jon said that he felt like he had more "Brooklyn" than "Pocket" strikes but whatever works, right?  With his $1,200.00 winner's check Jon says that he plans on paying some medical bills and is taking his daughter and three grandchildren to the Muckleshoot Casino for their buffet.

 

Jon added that the Tour is "Well Ran and is the Best Tourney there is and I've bowled in MANY".  Well, we can't argue with that, Jon!  Great bowling and congratulations!
