Bowlero Lanes - Lakewood, WA
December 6th, 2014

Total Paid Out: $7,892.00

Wrap Up
Unexpectedly challenging lane conditions created unusually lower scores and a wide open Tournament as just ONE bowler topped the 1000 mark in Saturday's return to Bowlero Lanes.  With a SUPER turnout including bowlers from Blaine, Oak Harbor, Moses Lake, Bellingham and even as far away as Alaska, there were 125 entries as 25 bowlers made their way to a surprisingly low Cut-Line of 876.  With the $6,355.00 9-Tap Jackpot on the line, the expected assault for the Cash materialized in a different way than expected as SIX bowlers hit 3-Taps, taking advantage of the Jackpot's new 'Ties Paid in Full' rule, each collecting $50 ($300 total).  Included in the SIX were Joe Miller, Alaska's Hank OlsonBruce Gorr,Chuck DeForestTong Nguyen & Pete Wood.  With that, the 9-Tap Jackpot remains on the rise and sits at $6,534.00.

What a day for Veteran Tour Bowlers with the Top 3 Finishers now holding a combined TWELVE Titles and career earnings of over$81,000.00, not including an additional (appx.) $20,000.00 in Jackpot earnings.

Finishing in 3rd Place by shooting a nice 959 was Hall of Famer, Earl Kleist who was chasing Career Title #8.  Earl's finish put him up to$39,273.00 in Career earnings, not including the HUGE $7,730.00Jackpot win last year.  Nice shooting, Earl!

After a long drought, this week's 2nd Place finisher, James Strand has been heating up lately!  James, who fired a 994, was chasing his 3rd Title and has cashes in 3 out of his last 4 Tournments while boosting his Career earnings to $14,059.00.  Keep it up, James!

This week's Champion, Roland Jarata, also entered the day with the added thrill of being one of the five on the Hall of Fame Ballot.  With voting held Saturday now closed, he along with Rollie AbellaMick HodgeMike Ducay and Bob Rouse will all have to wait another week to find out who joins the Elite Club...

With the impressive win by way of shooting 1058, Roland claims his 6th Career Title (first since 2011) and
bumps his career earnings to an impressive $27,932.00since joining the Tour back in 2002.  Jarata used his Brunswick 'Meanstreak' ball drilled by Ed Dolfay at Skyway Park Bowl and thanks all of his friends & family for their support and cheering.  He said "It's been a long time!" when he found out that he'd won for sure.   Roland's biggest fan and wife, Emma Jarata occasionally bowls with him and his son, Ajay Jarata has three Titles of his own!  When asked what his plans are for the $1,922.00 winner's check, Roland (& Emma) said they are "still deciding but maybe more presents".  Roland wanted to say a special thank you to the Tour and Bowlero staff for all the hard work and support.  Congratulations, Roland!  See you next week...

We're all excited about next week as it will be a Record Setting Year End Championship as we've had to expand the format thanks to an incredible TWENTY New Champions in 2014.  Even if you're not eligible, we hope that you'll still join us for the Award Presentations and to observe the very unique format for this event.  More information regarding the Year End Championship and the activities within will be coming later this week so please stay tuned!!!!
