Paradise Bowl - Parkland, WA
September 28th, 2013

Total Paid Out: $7,597.00

Wrap Up
What an INCREDIBLY tight competition and FANTASTIC Finish!  The Top 5 were only separated by SIX pins and the Top 3 amazingly finished with 792, 791, 790 scores.  The Top scores were a little lower than normal, but the Cut-Line was right on target at 729.  Paradise's 2013 history of giving up LOTS of Taps, took a different twist Saturday, leading to the Spectacular & Unusual performance of the day.  Leo Harris managed anunbelievable TEN Taps in one game (see picture), without cashing-in, thanks to a real strike in the 2nd frame.  Otherwise, the9-Tap Jackpot got off easy this week paying out only $100, allowing the Pot to grow to $6,037.00 for next week.  That Jackpot total just adds more 'juice' to the already loadedAppreciation Day, where 2 or 3 New Balls will be given away PER SQUAD, along with a $40 Entry Fee and other discounts at Roxbury.

Jerry Hendrickson earned his 1st 2013 Championship & 3rd Career Title the hard way!  His nice 792 series, shot in the 12:00squad, was well short of a normal winning score, so Jerry didn'texpect it would hold-up all day.  Throughout the next 3 squads, he watched... paced... added... graciously cheered... and nervously saw numerous assaults on his total.  First,Karol Knight came up FIVE pins short, in the 2:00 squad, soon followed by Rollie Abella short by ONE, John Shaw short TWO and Mike Ducayjust SIX down.  Needless to say, Jerry was an exhausted wreck by the end of the day and pleasantly surprised when each squad's standings were posted.  He used a Hammer 'Vibe', drilled by Dan Sanchez at Kent Bowl, for his Win.  When asked what he'd do with the $1,825.00 Winner's share, he said he wants a new ball (if he doesn't win one next week) and he'd pay some bills.  He's the owner/operator of Absolute Construction (plug).  Jerry's best friend's Dad is seriously ill, so he asked us to dedicate his Win to the Larson family.  CONGRATS Jerry for earning the White Champion jersey.

A 10th frame split was all that separated Rollie Abella from his 5th Title, and his first since 2010.  The $830.00 2nd Place check, pushed his Career Earnings to $17,180.00.   John Shaw had a clear shot at his 1st Title, coming just 2-pins short.  John's best finish and biggest payday yet, was worth a nice $455.00 for 3rd. Karol Knight finished with her best game, also just missing her 1st Title.
