The qualifying scores on Sunday took quite a jump, requiring at least a 942 to make the Finals.  Ironically, there were no really BIG scores all weekend, allowing Patrick Yorkston's 1016 to hold up, earning him the 'Top Qualifier' Jacket, to go with the 900 Global 'The Look' ball he earned on Saturday.  No one hit the 9-Tap Jackpot this week, so the 'Jackpot King' Earl Kleiststepped up and earned himself an extra $250.00 for his 5-Taps.  12 bowlers were added to the Finals on Sunday, bringing the total Finalists to 31.  The 'Low Pay' was a healthy $90.00, that went to the unlucky 8 that got bumped in the 1st Round, which lead to a nice round Total Payout of $11,111.00.  Enjoy the 'Bye' week next weekend and we'll see you all at Secoma, in two weeks, for the return of the "Long-Oil Special".

 

FINALLY... Bob Berryman got the 'Gorilla off his Back' Sunday, impressively winning his 1st Tour Title.  Another GREAT story of Tenacity!  Bob's been a Tour regular since 2009 and he's had plenty of success along the way, with 17 Top 10's including 8 Top 5's.  Like his previous two 2nd Place finishes and two 3rd's, this looked like it could be another weekend of 'Coming Close', when he missed being the Top Qualifier Saturday by just ONE PIN.  But Bob put it all together in the Finals, with 2 good enough games and 3 really nice games, to win-it-all.  The impressive $2,687.00 he Won, pushes his 4 year Tour total to $9,495.00.  Bob used his 900 Global 'Assault', drilled by Fred Mattson at Narrows Plaza for his breakthrough day.  He asked us to Thank ALL the bowlers who stayed to cheer the Finalists on, but especially good friends Patrick & Judy Robbins.  Before Bob even got home his wife Sandy had already heard about the new Champion... in Thailand!  She's there visiting their daughter Blayne, who moved there to teach English 8 months ago.  Bob works for Sound Retina and does his League bowling at Tower Lanes in Tacoma.  BIG CONGRATS Bob on Win #1!!

 

Donte Jones also had his highest finish with a 2nd Place and nearly pulled off quite a feat with his feet.  After a few Rounds in the Finals, he absentmindedly walked outside with his bowling shoes still on.  He had to switch to House Shoes for the 3rd Round and his scores even went up, as he won the next two matches.  A sweet payday of $1,185.00, should cover any needed shoe replacement (hey Donte - remember Dexter is a Tour sponsor!).  The 2 Hottest bowlers in the Finals were 80 year old Stu Gallagher and recently returning Tour Veteran Andy DeOcampo.  Both saw their nice string of huge scores dip in the Semi-Final match.  They each took home a $494.00chunk of cash for their very strong run through the Finals.
