Wrap Up
Our intrepid bowlers in the early squads had to weather some very heavy traffic, thanks to the 100,000+ spectators at the McChord Air Show.  We hoped to say goodbye to the Wooden Lanes at Paradise Bowl in style and our bowlers certainly rose to that challenge!  We mentioned in the Wednesday email, that Paradise was the ONLY Center where a 7-10 Split had ever been picked-up on the Tour... Saturday Carl Nicholsrepeated that VERY RARE FEAT, becoming the 2nd Tour Member to ever pull it off.  Since Paradise is removing the wooden lanes, they offered to give Carl a souvenir piece of Lane #17, when they pull it up.  As the temperatures rose Saturday, so did the scoring and the two were directly related.  With the lane oil being impacted by the heat, several bowlers were finding the conditions perfectly suited to their games.  No score was unreachable and quite a few bowlers were reaching Personal Best totals.  Despite an early BIG score, several bowlers had opportunities to Top that score, shooting some GREAT scores themselves in the process.  The Cut Line was also about 30 pins higher than it had normally been at Paradise.  From the 9-Tap Jackpot, THREE Members earned $100 each for their 4-Taps (Gallagher-Rodriguez-Quirante), after several bowlers just missed getting 7 in-a-row in the middle of their games.  One of the near misses was a double near miss, when Alfredo Oriza came close to 7 Taps twice in one game, missing in the middle of two strings.

Our 'Farewell to the Wood' Tournament produced only our 2nd two-time Champion of 2012 and it was achieved in SPECTACULAR fashion!  Patrick Dennis shot his Personal Best scratch series... had his first 9-Tap 300 game on the Tour... and amazingly, it's the first time he's even Cashed in 10 tries since he won his 1st Title.  Patrick took up bowling just a few years ago and has been working hard on improving his game, (much like last weeks winner Ajay Jarata).  He's been getting instruction from Derek Handy at the Tech City Proshop, which is where his Ebonite Mission 250k ball was drilled.  Tech City is where Patrick bowls league and also where he's been doing plenty of practicing, leading up to his 'Nuclear' Hot series.  He admitted to getting pretty lucky on a lot of shots this week, but that always seems to happen when anybody get on a Hot Streak... everything seems to go your way.  He's considering using the $2,031.00 he earned Saturday, toward a vacation to Puerto Rico.  CONGRATS Patrick on Win #2!

Mr. 7-10, Carl Nichols shot his best series in the last year and 2nd best of his Tour Career, a HUGE 1072.  Had his 3rd game been on a par with the other three games, he would have easily knocked off Patrick's huge score.  He had to settle for 2nd and a still profitable $912.00.  In 3rd Place, shooting his Best set in two years, Bob Rouse rebounded from his recent slump with a$476.00 payday.  In 4th, 5th, & 6th, Nelson Sand, Rody Sumandig & Christina Miller all shot their 2012 Best scores as well.
