Wrap Up
An exciting, tight, low scoring competition, was nearly overshadowed by all of the long strings of 9-Taps.  In the 1st squad, we had the ONLY 800 score of the day, meanwhile Narrows Plaza was already reinforcing its image as our 9-Tap Utopia. Also in the 1st squad, Wes Puishis started the 9-Tap barrage by getting Taps in 7 out of the first 8 frames, nearly taking down the whole 9-Tap Jackpot.  Then late in his game, Willie Downing ran off 6 in-a-row, missing with a real strike on the 7th shot.  So, the ladies stepped up in the 4:30 squad and showed the guys how to do it!  For the 2nd time in a month the Jackpot Consolation paid out a RECORD $1,500.00, when Mary Hastings hit 7-Taps (middle) and Maribel Abella followed soon after with 7 Taps of her own, each collecting $750.00 for their effort.  Several other bowlers had as many as 5 in-a-row before having their strings derailed.  That makes it an INCREDIBLE$6,200.00 paid out, in Jackpot Consolations, over the last 7 visits to Narrows Plaza!  The hefty $10,168.00 paid out on Saturday, pushed the Tour total for the 1st half of the year, to another milestone of $203,973.00, strengthening the 9-Tap Tour's position as the "BEST IN THE WEST"!!

We hope everyone enjoys a safe 4th of July break!  If you're looking for something to do over the break, we hope you'll consider a getaway to Yakima on the 7th for our 2nd Satellite Tournament.  We've heard from several Members that plan to make it a weekend.

Our 'Best 3 of 4' Champion for Narrows Plaza is Ajay Jarata, who won his 2nd Career Title.  The nice 804 series he shot in the 1st squad, would normally be a solid Top 5 score, but despite a dozen bowlers having a shot at his total going into their last game, it held up for the win.  Good thing he had to go to a birthday partyin the afternoon... it would have been nerve wracking, to watch the assaults on his score.  Ajay is a student at Bellevue Comm. College and usually bowls with his parents, Roland (5 Career Titles) and Emma (2nd straight Cash Saturday).  The whole family is on a roll, with all three Cashing twice each at last week's Dad's Day Doubles.  The 21 year-old Ajay shot 3 solid games and tossed out a 217 game, on his way to his $1,973.00 payday, which pushes his Career total to$8,059.00 for his three years on the Tour.  Showing wisdom beyond his years, Ajay said that he was going to put his winnings in the bank.  Ed Dolfay at Skyway Park Pro Shop, not only drilled the Roto Grip Epic used by Ajay for the win, he's also been coaching him, for which Ajay sends Ed his THANKS!  Ajay bowls league at Skyway and also enjoys playing tennis.  CONGRATS Ajay for win #2!

In a tie for 2nd Place at 793, were Del Wiggins and Pen Hagen, both shooting in the 2:00 squad.  They each had their best games of their sets in their 4th game and Del finished with a string of strikes, leaving no room at the end of his game for the extra pin he needed to break the tie.  Pen has been 'En Fuego' lately after winning her first Title in last weeks Doubles with partner Wayne Liddy.  Del has two previous Titles, with the last coming in 2008 and he's also 'On Staff' with our ball sponsor 900 Global.  Pen took home $707.00 for her share of 2nd, while Del's share was$561.00 ($10 Pro Pot).
