Tournament Wrap Up

The SENIORS dominated this week, holding the Top 4 spots on the Cash List.  The Top 4 averaged 69 years of 'experience'!  Huge squads were the norm on Saturday at HiLine, with an excellent 155 entries.  The BIG turnout included Members who traveled from Yakima and also from Forks, who were actually considered 'locals' this week, thanks to our two guests from Hawaii.  Brandon Hee & Alric Kutara, both original Members of the Hawaii 9-Tap Tour, making the trip from the Islands to bowl with us Saturday.  Bob Rouse, Pen Hagen & Eric Smallman all made a run at the 3rd straight week with a $1,000.00 Jackpot payout (7-middle), by each getting SIX in-a-row. but all missed on #7.  Instead, the 9-Tap Jackpot paid out to THREE Members who each had the front 4-Taps.  Stu Gallagher - Eric Pham - Fred Desimone each took home $150.00 for their efforts.  The scores were bunched tightly, with the high scores a little lower than usual and the Cut-Line actually higher than normal.

78 year old Stu Gallagher returned to the winners Circle with his second Career Championship.  Stu won his first Title last October in a 'Best 3 of 4' format at Paradise Village.  He said thathe wants to earn the record back from Leon, for being the oldest to earn a Title... but he'll have to win again in October to accomplish that feat.  Bowling in the 1st squad, Stu finished his set with two really strong games and then watched as his 819 series hung on all afternoon, while one challenger after another would come up just short.  Stu credited his improvement to an adjustment that Robert Kelly (Secoma Pro Shop) made to hisStorm Marvel Pearl, that he used for this win.  A healthy payday of $2,272.00 will come in handy, for Stu's upcoming trip to Florida to visit family.  Stu bowls in two South Sound Travel Leagues in addition to a Senior League at Secoma.  CONGRATS Stu on Win #2!

A STUNNED LeAnn Gunderson shot a fantastic 816, for 2nd Place, just 3 pins off the lead.  Her BIG scores were quite unexpected, as evidenced by her not put anything into the Progressive Pot.  She was still enthusiastic about the $550.00 she earned for her GREAT performance.  In 3rd Place, the youngster of the Top 4,  LeRoy Cofield had his best finish on the Tour, Cashing for $534.00.  Earl Kleist was the 4th Place finisher and the only other bowler to crack 800 Saturday.
