If it COULD happen, it DID happen Saturday!  The 'ingredients' for this recipe were HUGE squads which made for a tight timetable, which also magnified the normal mechanical challenges.  Throw in a few unique situations, add-in a TIE for 3rd Place and top-it-off with THREE of the TOP 4 Finishers not making full Progressive Pot entries ($0, $10, $10, $20).  The end result, was a Spectacularly 'Spicy' Tournament, with $1,704.00 being "Left on the Table" for Narrows Plaza in two weeks, creating the BIGGEST Pro Pot in 7 years, at a mind boggling $4,301.00.  Strangely, the Cut-Score was higher than the last 4 Secoma Tournaments, but the Top scores were much lower... go figure.  Only TWO bowlers reached 1000 this week.  A score of 1005 TEASED every one all afternoon, daring anyone to come and get the relatively low score, but no one did.  The predicted ASSAULT on the 9-Tap Jackpot was literally 'Right on the Money' as numerous Members had strings of Taps going.  Len Bazzar started the day with front 5 Taps, Scott Holm had 5 Taps in the middle, but it was Tour Rookie Ron Kuver who strung the middle SEVEN, making it two weeks in-a-row someone went home with a $1,000.00 haul.  Almost lost in all the excitement was the continued Record string of SIX STRAIGHT Tournaments with payouts of over $10,000.00.  With the Pro Pot at record heights, that string will almost certainly be extended to SEVEN at Narrows.  Enjoy the Bye week!

Our Secoma Champ Karyn Turner wins her first Tour Title and is our fourth Lady Champion in the last seven Tournaments.  Karyn first joined the Tour in January 2010, just returning this week after a long absence.  She's been on a nice 'Hot Streak' lately, teaming up with fellow Tour Members Ja'nae Ross and Vanessa Rivera for Team and Trio wins at the recent Seattle City Tournament.  With the relatively low Top scores Saturday, Karyn took perfect advantage of the opportunity.  Not needing any huge games, she won by simply throwing 4 consistently good games.  In every squad there were SO MANY bowlers that were in position to knock Karyn off the Top Spot, but were derailed by one game or just a bad frame or two, as in the case of John Nissen & Cal Evans in their last games.  Not knowing what to expect in her first time back on the Tour, Karyn didn't put anything the Pro Pot, but was nonetheless excited with the win and the $1,100.00 Prize Money.  Karyn is a league bowler at both Skyway Park and HiLine Lanes, where she had her HAMMER "Black Widow" drilled by Pat Johns.  She was supported Saturday by her niece Ja'nae and credited her consistency to her ability to stay focused.  Karyn said that she also enjoys cooking and entertaining family & friends.  CONGRATULATIONS Karyn on your 1st win.

Just missing with a solid 1000, Jon Schneider also had a good shot at 1st after a big start, but his ailing right arm let him down in the end.  Jon took home $823.00, for his first Top 5 finish since October.  Ruben Cortinas and Emma Jarata tied for 3rd Place with a fine 997.  Life Member Emma's final game was her highest game since 2005 and she takes home $457.00.  Ruben's 4th game was also his best of the day, and he shot his best series on the Tour.  By having $20 in the Pot, he was rewarded with $593.00 for his effort.  Congrats to all on the Cash List this week, which was a very diverse group, as usual.
