Tournament Wrap Up
The stars must have been properly aligned for the Ladies Saturday.  For the second week in-a-row we have a lady at the top of the Cash List.  This week the ladies finished in both 1st & 2nd Places at Pacific Lanes AND over in the Hawaii Region, Pearl Sedeno became the FIRST Member to win a Title both here (Bowlero 2008) and now Hawaii (PaliLanes).  Pearl bowled with us two weeks ago at HiLine, while here on a visit.  Her long day began on Saturday morning when she left SeaTac Airport for Hawaii, went straight from the airport to Pali, where she posted the biggest series of her career.  Meanwhile, at Pacific Lanes we not only had a very enthusiastic response to the 'Tips' gleaned from the Instructional Clinic... we had Clinic participants making use of those Tips to finish in 2nd & 4th Places.  Since this was our first time back to Pacific in a long time, we had to 'guess' at how to set-up the lane conditions.  We were pleasantly surprised that the scoring ended up perfectly within our target range, although many of our Members did struggle with the conditions.  The 9-Tap Jackpot grew to a new RECORD of $9,847.00, even though we paid out a nice total of$450.00 ($150 ea) to three bowlers (Dorrie Quirante, Chong Moon, Osmond Green) who managed to string the first 4-Taps.  Next week we'll end the summer with a "Best 3 of 4" at Skyway, that will also feature both the Record sized Jackpot and an Extra Large Progressive Pot, now at$2,606.00.  Should be fun!!!

In a near 'instant replay' of last week, we had a lady making a fantasticallyclutch performance in the final game, to take her first career Tour Title. Rebecca McDonald "Had a Feeling" on her way home from work, that she needed to bowl Saturday.  Becky's busy day began at 4:30am in Port Orchard, went to work at the WalMart, that she manages, way out in Port Angeles and ended in her last squad fantastic finish worth a hefty$2,294.00.  Her hectic schedule hasn't allowed her to enter as many Tournaments as she'd like lately, but Becky said that she was sure glad she followed through on that 'little voice' she heard in her ear.  Port Orchard's Hi-Joy Bowl is where Becky bowls in the Friday night league and where Nick Blair drilled her Brunswick Ultimate Inferno that she used for her win.  In her final game, she knew she had a shot, but wouldn't let her husband Steve tell her how much she needed to win.  There were four guys in the last two squads, who had a great opportunity for a Title going into their last game.  But it was Becky who came through with her biggest game of her series (1051) to earn the crown.  Her clean final game included several difficult spare conversions and she confessed that she was, "Shaking like a leaf", in the 10th frame.  Becky asked us to thank her friends Beth and Tami, who she usually bowls with, in addition to Steve and son Caleb who were there cheering her on Saturday.  CONGRATS Rebecca on Win #1.

It was a 'nerve racking' day for 2nd Place finisher Diane Vernon, who was also seeking her first Title.  She held the lead through the first three squads with a solid 1029.  Diane returned during the last squad and was very gracious, after watching Becky pull it out in the end.  2nd paid a healthy $1,027.00, for Diane's career best series.  In 3rd place, Pacific Lanes bowler Ike Cason, who originally joined the Tour in 2008, returned to have his career best finish with a 1028.  However, with nothing in the Pro Pot, that did limit his winnings to $300.  In 4th, Stan Tappe parlayed some Clinic Tips into his highest career finish, as the only other bowler to hit the 1000 mark.

SPECIAL THANKS to our 'Instructional Clinic' Pros Dave Hansen, Fred Mattson & Pat Johns for a GREAT Clinic and for their Sponsoring of the 9-Tap Tour!!!
