Lots of Fun at Skyway Saturday! If you like the High Scoring Tournaments, this one was for you! If you were in a 'slump', this was a good place to break out of it! We suspected that the scoring might be a little on the high side at Skyway... But NOT the SKY HIGH scores we saw in this Tournament! Last week at Paradise, we had FIVE bowlers top 1000... This week, we had FIVE bowlers top 1000 WHO DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE CASH LIST and the Top 5 Finishers all topped 1100! We had 129 total Entries, with 26 Members cashing, most of them with scores that would be high enough to WIN, on nearly any other week. The high scores didn't show any favoritism, with high & medium & low average bowlers, all well represented on the Cash List. We GREATLY APPRECIATED the Members who came to the 12:00 squad, to help relieve pressure on the 2:30 squad. We still ended up setting a RECORD at 2:30, with an amazing 61 Entries! Three Members shared the 9-Tap Jackpot Consolation with 4 No-Taps, Richard DuCharme, Randy Laed & Dorrie Quirante, each took $50 from the Pot. But, the Jackpot still grew to nice $2,303.00. The BIG NEWS, is that for the 2nd straight week, the Tournament Winner had $10 in the Progressive Pot, which means the Pot takes a jump to a HUGE $2,461.00 for the "Best 3 of 4" Tournament, at Tower Lanes Feb. 6th.

The Skyway Champion is Gani Ildefonso ,who just earned his 1st Tour Title. Gani is one of seven 9-Tap Members, who share time representing the Tour on the 9-Tap Tour Team (Abella-Avila-Caindec-Divina-Ducay-Nissen), Tuesday nights at Hooters Bowl. That team has already done the Tour proud, by winning their leagues 1st half. This win makes Gani the 6th Member of that current team to win a Tour Title. His Brunswick "Wild Ride", was drilled for him, by Pat Johns at HiLine Lanes. When asked what he'd do with his $1,523.00 winners share, he said he'd buy some new bowling balls. Gani also had plenty of support with him at Skyway, that included his wife Tita, daughter Colleen and son Kevin. Gani was aware that he had a 'special' series happening, and he admitted to "Getting a little nervous" going into his 4th game. On a day of really BIG scores, he worked through the nerves to put the BIGGEST series (1152) on the board! CONGRATULATIONS Gani on Win #1!!

In 2nd Place, was Tour "Hall of Famer" Samson Ibale, who shot a SPECTACULAR 1127, which might be a Record for a 2nd Place score. Samson takes home a SWEET $918.00 payday, for his efforts. In 3rd Place, Greg Olsen, who joined last August, easily topped his best ever series with a GREAT 1118, good for $489.00. CONGRATS also go out to Randy Laed (1113) and Leo Aguiling (1104), for reaching that RARE plateau of topping 1100. Despite just missing that magic number, Karen Guilbeault's 1099 was pretty AMAZING as well! KUDOS to all of the bowlers with BIG scores.
