9-Tap Tour Tournament Results
Hiline Lanes - Renton, Wa September 4-5, 2010
Total Paid Out: $10,970.00

A FANTASTIC weekend at HiLine Lanes was crowned by a Record 40 Members making the Finals, which led to some dramatic Head-to-Head matches. The competition to qualify was fierce all weekend, with the highest scores the Tour has seen at HiLine Lanes. 15 Members topped 1000, led by the enormous 1105 shot on Saturday, by Top Qualifier Bill Storey, who wins the HAMMER 'Plague" and a 9-Tap Jacket. Several bowlers actually had a shot at Bill's big score, but settled for one of the EIGHT Byes in the 1st Round of the Finals. Again, 4 Members took advantage of ties being paid full value in the 9-Tap Jackpot, with 4 No-Taps each. Christina Miller, Cheryl Bustamente, Gary VanNess & Patrick Robbins each earned $100, bringing the total paid from the Jackpot Consolation, in the last 4 Tournaments, to $2,000.00.

Our 3rd Quarter EQC Champion is Ken Seaton, winning his 2nd Career Title. This was a win that Ken really had to work for. He tried to qualify on Saturday, struggling through the entry, but came back on Sunday to try again. His 11:00 entry didn't start out any better, but two good finishing games helped him to believe that he was getting his game together. One more try at 1:00 and he caught FIRE. If not for a brief lapse in the 3rd game, Ken could have topped the high qualifying score. His 1072 was still enough to earn a Bye in the 1st Round, but the wheels almost came off in the 2nd Round. With the low 12 scores being dropped from that round, Ken was convinced that he'd blown it. He changed his shoes and packed his equipment, but was surprised to nab the last (16th) spot in the Bracket Finals. After that near miss, he cruised through the Brackets on what he said was a combination of adrenaline and Advil, due to sore leg. In a close Championship Match, he finished it off in style, by stringing the last 6 strikes for the win. Norm Giannusa at Bowlero drilled the Storm Virtual Gravity that Ken also used for his previous win. When he's not bowling, Ken also enjoys drag racing and working for Pierce Transit. CONGRATULATIONS Ken on win #2!!

In 2nd Place, Tong Nguyen has been named the luckiest guy of the Tournament. He survived THREE times with subpar games including one win with a 181 and in the 1st Round he squeaked into the last spot by a one pin margin. Winning always requires a little luck and this streak produced a nice $1,000.00 payday. Tied for 3rd Place were Vanessa Elley and William Stinson Jr each winning $500.00. Both had some big scores to make the Finals and some nice games during the Finals.

SOUTH SOUND TRADE SHOW & DEMO: Next Saturday, Tour sponsor, South Sound Pro Shops, is hosting a huge Trade Show at Pacific Lanes. 9 Major Ball manufacturers will be there to demo their newest balls, with 12, 14 or 15 pound balls, for anyone to try, $5 admission (or $3 advance tickets at SSPS's), will allow everyone to test drive balls from HAMMER, Ebonite, Columbia 300, Track, Storm, Brunswick, 900 Global, Roto Grip & AMF. The 9-Tap Tour will also have a table at the show. Hope you can make it.
