9-Tap Tour Tournament Results
Bowl Arena - Ft. Lewis, Wa August 28, 2010
Total Paid Out: $7,440.00

The Tour, along with the Management at Bowl Arena, would like to apologize to anyone that experienced any 'hassle' with the Visitors Center at Ft. Lewis. Apparently, after a shift change, one lone sergeant decided that things were going to be different on his watch. The problem was corrected, but not before some bowlers had been turned away. This was an unannounced change in procedure and we want to assure our Members that we will cure the issue before we return. If you had any issue at the Visitors Center, or the Main Gate, please let me know so I can address the matter with those in charge. (Email here)

We had a nice turnout of 111 Entries, making August the BIGGEST Month in Tour History, with a Spectacular 584 entries for the month! Congratulations and Thanks to all those who participated! Even with the added length to the oil pattern, the scores were amazingly identical to our previous two visits to Ft. Lewis. The winning scores of our last 3 Bowl Arena Tournaments were 1002, 1005 & 1012, with Cut-Scores of 901, 901 & 912. That's pretty consistent. Again we had bowlers take advantage of the 9-Tap Jackpot Consolation 'paying ties', with Gani Ildefonso & Tong Nguyen each earning $100 for their 4 No-Taps. The Jackpot still grew to $6,132.00 for next weeks EQC, so it remains the 2nd largest Pot ever. Invitations for next weeks EQC Quarterly Championship should be emailed to all qualified Members by Tuesday.

Our Bowl Arena Champion is Christina Miller, winning her 1st Career Title and a sweet $2,167.00. In her two years on the Tour, Christina has earned $5,592.00 and was the Top Women on the Tour in 2009. Anyone who has bowled with her, knows that she is a determined competitor. Christina was an EMT in San Francisco, until an accident shattered her left leg, putting her out of bowling for 12 years. After years of operations and re-hab on her leg, she decided to re-learn how to bowl by finishing on her 'wrong leg', just 5 years ago. This win marks the Pinnacle of that comeback and is a meaningful testimony to overcoming challenges in our lives. Everyone present at the end of the Tournament was excited for her, when it was determined that her 2nd Squad score of 1002 had hung on for the win. Christina bowls out of Hi-Joy Lanes in Port Orchard, which where she had her Columbia Resurgence drilled at Nick's Pro Shop. She asked us to thank her husband Mike, 12 year-old son Justin and her brother Shawn (9-Tap Member) for their support. She also expressed her appreciation for all the Tour Members and Directors who have been so encouraging and friendly since she joined the Tour. CONGRATULATIONS Christina on you first Title!

With a HUGE finishing 300 game, LeFear Richardson made it close with his 990, taking home equally huge 2nd Place money of $967.00. LeFear is active duty and bowls out of Bowl Arena. He also took an extra $250 from the Scratch Pots and $36 from the hdcp High Game Pots. Just missing another Title, the 'Hot' Samson Ibale needed a 282 in his last game to win it. He had a shot, until a split in the 10th frame dropped him to 3rd. His $508.00 in winnings push his 9 year Career earnings to over $29,000.00. Again finishing in 4th place for the 2nd straight week was John Bustamente.
